I thought we were outplayed and lucky.

We lost the clearances, contested possessions, inside 50s and had less shots on goal. We were very lucky that they had key defenders injured and couldn't cover, and we got the rub of the green with the umpires and made the most of it against a likely bottom 4 opponent. To me, that's a bad win.

I don't think this team is playing anywhere near what it is capable of (and to be honest, i am not confident this coach can get us there).

But almost the best sign is how badly we are playing and we are still winning. If we were Geelong, with their experience, this would be how you set up a premiership run: win ugly early, build form and confidence and then peak in September. We are also missing a few key players and can hopefully mirror that, but will need to play a heap better than this to beat Adelaide or St Kilda in the next two weeks imo
Largely agree. NM kicked poorly, we were kissed on the dick by umpires, and fortunate Cunnington isn't match fit.

On the upside some good moves in the coaches box...but have to question our mindset and set up running out.

Random thoughts...

Goldy still has some juice.

TDK still very much a tweener.

Charlie is up with Kouta and Fev as most dynamic Bluebagger in my time.

Cowan has more than a bit of Sexton about him.

Walsh will help to unlock Holland's game even further.

I keep selling Young stock and he keeps making me regret it.

Motlop improving by the minute.

I come in peace, just alerting you that in your poll you've left off no.1 Donlon, 17. Howorth, 33. Wallace and 37. Rodger.
You bitter little baby. Enjoy the loss xx

Another week, another bad performance and yet a win. I said before it that i thought North were being underrated and it was a 50/50 game and in the rnd it wasnt far off. They beat us 29 scoring shots to 27, but having two big key forwards and their lack of defenders was the difference.

But sheesh, how does a team that missed out on its first top 8 finish in over a decade (after badly blowing consecutive leads) by % put the cue in the rack that badly in the last 5 minutes and just concede 4 straight goals?
Cry more

Not convinced we have an excellent coach. That first half was embarrassingly bad in so many areas. What do they do all week?

I was at the game and they were unfortunately both massive liabilities. Turned the ball over repeatedly, refused to tackle. Either of them should have been subbed off at half time.

Well on LOB no argument from me

Fisher one of our better contributors, 2nd for disposals, 4th for contested ball, mid table for pressure, same for usage, 2nd for clearances. So, still won't be dropped

I agree with your comments about the Coach and we can only speculate where we might now be if Ross Lyon had applied fir the job when Voss did.

Missing their two best defenders and their key forward was injured all game. This from a bottom 4 aspirant.

North were always going to start the season on fire with Clarko.

Reminds me of many of the Sun's years. Get some wins early, come close to teams who should out them away easily and then do diddly squat over the last 15 or so rounds of the season.

Watch it play out exactly that way this year.

Somewhat happy we didn't Docker our North game

The naysayers told us after the Geelong game that we got them at the right time of year. I also agree with that view. But some of those same posters are now telling us that we underperformed against a poor team.

I think the context these posters brought to the Geelong game is also important here. This is North’s biggest game of the year. They’re playing under a coach who hates us and has had our measure over many years. It’s the start of the season when their young bodies are fresh, and opposition sides are yet to beat up on them on a weekly basis.

If round two was the best time to get Geelong, round four was the worst time to get North. This was a sound win in some adverse circumstances.

Fingers crossed we can get the job done next week in Adelaide.

Make the finals once before the wheels fall off.

Malthouse Ii.

Think we're going way too hard on Vossy.

Port has gone from a top 4 team to ****ing worthless since he left.

Arrow please give an honest answer. If we’d appointed Ross Lyon rather than Voss do you think that we’d be performing better than we are under Voss?
I know it calls for speculation but I’m interested in your “speculative” view.
