There is nothing right now to indicate we are going to be better next year, our whole strategy was geared towards playing finals by now, Saad, Cerra,Williams, Hewitt, we ignored the draft and have a salary cap close to the Max.

The game plan developed over summer by the coaching team has been a major step backwards, last year we played a much more attacking brand, the coaching team has overreacted to our last 2 losses last year, for a team with two quality forwards, has completely send the team backwards.

The spin from the club last week was a farce, even to the point of telling one of our players pre interview that missing finals would not be a failure.

Next year is a long way away.

Yes, and of course we wonder about the line coaches, but I figure they are directed by Voss, even if they'd like to do things differently? Hard to know! But again, are they connecting well with the players in their groups?
So much to address!

This is all true and something that our non existent head of footy would be able to ascertain…..

Our skills are woeful, playing a major part in our falling down
I disagree..

Our pinpoint passing to opposition defenders in our forward line the last 4 weeks has been elite.

Dropping the captain of a club, a year after winning the Brownlow, would you do it?
Would create a few headlines to say the least.

I just think the group needs to be split up a little more. Durds and Saad getting a few goes here and there to add some speed. Fish isn't strong enough to be effective in there (imo)
if the captain is not performing - either as a player or on-field leadership is lacking then no problem with this. Not the first time a captain has been dropped to regain some form.

Those blind, hot potato, Hail Mary’s Weitering’s been throwing on his boot don’t fill me with much confidence either.

Would i do it? Absolutely. Will Vossy and the club? Not in a million years.

I know I keep harping on it but...

Why doesn't Voss tell Harry your only job is to practice goal kicking and keep your fitness up. Structure, all the other stuff can come later give it 2 - 3 weeks.
Yep. Seems incredibly basic. Harry on that podcast said he didn't have time in season for a goal kicking coach. Has too much other stuff to focus on. Like.... What?!?

His only job is to reach out to Fev asap and to get back to kicking drop punts … right now he is the worst shot on goal I’ve seen in a very long time …

Look at the goal accuracy…

I agree.

But whats this about :p
:D doing the rounds on radio.
Everything is AWESOME!
We are SO lucky to have Voss!
Hazza doesn't need any help from Brad's brother or Any other ex champ cos he has Ash Hansen!!! And some raNdom others from around the club.
It's just some execution issues.
Whadya mean issues with game plan or lack thereof?

I think that's it.

Was at the game last night. My 2 cents.
Ed should never be picked again in the firsts. Finish in the two's and mentor the young player's.
Harry should be dropped after that ridiculous and stupid attempt to kick around his body. He really has lost all confidence and needs to go back to the VFL and kick some bags. But, of course this will not happen. He really should be doing the ruck-work against the oppo's second ruck-man as well. JSOS always struggles to have any impact when he has to go up against much bigger blokes in the ruck, just saps all of his energy.
Acres is such a real disappointment and it now is no surprise that Freo gave him away for a bag of salt n vinegar. He is such a butcher of the ball, our worst kick now imo. In fact I would bring back LOB for the pies game, hell it's a game we are basically no chance of winning now anyway.
On Voss, first half players were playing his game-plan. Dogs had missed a couple of easy one's as well and should have been further in front.
Half time, it seems he said to the players "okay it's not working, I guess you should now take the game on a little more at times".
Yes we came back, hit the front a couple of times and then we were spent and they finished full of running.
Changes for pies.
Harry to CHB, but prefer he was dropped. Will not happen.
Ed gone forever, thanks for your service.
Ollie is perhaps injured, definitely looking like the kid needs a bit of a rest.
Hewitt was quite poor and is very slow. He is nowhere near as good as Kennedy and I think we cannot play both.
Harry for TDK.
Ollie for LOB.
Mots for Martin.
Boyd needs to come in, we are desperate for his pace and excellent penetrating kicking. Maybe for Cinc.

In the match day thread last night, I offered up the Carlton challenge. That is, list your major life milestones since we won a flag.

Here are some of mine:

got an undergrad degree,
got honours,
got a PHD,
lived in the UK,
lived in four Australian states,
lived in one Australian Territory,
got engaged,
got married,
welcomed three children,
one kid finished primary school,
worked ten jobs,
became an uncle,
bought a house.

It’s a fair list. Let’s see how well I can add to it.

And that stat doesn't incorporate out on the full/ non score attempts I believe. At least it never used to

I think it’s does nowadays. I noticed on the team stats for forward efficiency our shots on goal summed to more than the total of our goals and behinds. Similarly Bulldogs were less as we rushed a few behinds.
