I don't get all the angst.
Is their oval really different?
Are they playing a different game?
What's the issue?
22 v 22.
They are good but so are we.
We'll win.

Harry won’t get suspended….It’s a very arguable case for low impact

Kennedy, Acres and Walsh make us a 3-5 goal better side

Newman, Saad, Doc and Gov (if he plays) will need to have super games to keep the mediums and smalls in check. Talls are well covered by Wieters and Young

With the inclusions we should have enough midfield power to get it done although we need to plan for Keays on Cripps, especially if they try and push keays forward like they did last year….may need Ed to go to him in open play

It’s going to be very interesting to see if we can keep pushing the level higher each week…Saints @ marvel could be 1st v 2nd the following week

StKilda playing Collingwood next week. They won’t beat Collingwood.

Not so sure, think it's more a 50/50, with Pies travelling back from QLD, and having no ruckman of note against Marshall

Intriguing game for both sides
Agreed! The Pies best is very good but they lack depth on every line, they can’t absorb many injuries and losing their only viable ruck options looks very ominous right now.

The “potential to cause injury” for Harry’s charge is so laughable. Cerra got hit with one of the most dangerous moves known to man but no consequences

In all seriousness though. A high fend off like that can be very dangerous

Bas Rutten made a 10 year career and became heavy weight champion in the UFC using the palm strike.

Possible, but not necessarily Probable Team.

B: McGovern, Young, Newman
HB: Cowan, Weitering, Saad
C: Acres, Docherty, Hollands
HF: Durdin, Curnow, Kennedy
F: Silvagni, McKay, Motlop
R: TDK, Cripps, Cerra
IC: Pittonet, Hewett, Walsh, Fisher,
Sub: Binns

In: Acres, Kennedy, Walsh, Binns
Out: LOB, Curnow, Honey, Carroll

  • Harry's charge is downgraded and cops a find rather than a suspension. Pushing action rather than a striking action.
  • Carroll & Honey look a little off the pace to me.
  • We'll need someone with speed and endurance who can stick a tackle so Binns can debut as the sub.
  • Acres, Kennedy & Walsh come back in.
  • Must provide consistent defensive pressure through the front half and guts or we'll have our arses handed to us.
  • TDK & Pitto need to be more aggressive in the ruck like we were against the Cats.

Hopefully the team will give hollands a rest this week and only allow 45 inside 50's so he only has to run a nice 13k-14k...
Seriously though I hope we can start getting some ground dominance back and limit sides entries - playing from our back half is to hard

If Harry is out we could go small, we did it last year and was ok. Or we could try Lemmy but I don't think he's ready. We could also go O'Keefe and send TDK forward. This being the choice which appeals most to me.
I’d be stunned if Lemmey got picked. He’s had one decent game. I’d bet it’s just ‘throw TDk forwsrd’ if McKay is out.

Lemmey looks promising but I’d be very hesitant to expose him at AFL level against a hostile crowd as the replacement for our 205cm, Coleman medal winning FF.

If McKay is out then TDK spends more time forward than usual. Simples.

Funny enough with Harry a potential out and Adelaide’s form I don’t mind almost going in as an underdog.

I reckon Harry will get off on appeal.

But if he doesn't, I don't think it's that bad a thing. I have a feeling we are becoming overly reliant on Mckay and Curnow to mark everything and kick goals.

They'll likely miss some games at some point this year, happy to see how we cope.

We don't need to bring in another tall, with the extra mid coming in Cripps and Kennedy can spend time forward and both are marking targets.
