I will say that, while I agree with your point in essence, I would like our defensive footy to still see a net gain on the scoreboard. For example, the first half against NM - if we'd played slow, controlling footy and gone into the QT break 8 points up, then built on the lead and gone into the HT break 14 points up, and then blitzed them in the 3rd - that would have been much more reassuring than playing slow and conservative and going into half time behind on the scoreboard.

Can't win every quarter, of course. Would just be nice to see the boys implement the slow build up without that allowing the opposition to get ahead.
We just slowed down the slow build-up way too far in the first half against North, hopefully they've fine tuned this technique by today.

On a side note I bought my son a Giddey OKC top at start of last season he was disappointed I said don't worry son they will be contenders in a few years with there big three and so many first round picks coming and he will be a superstar like when Sam Walsh come to carlton -- he looked at me very puzzled --
Well wowser Giddey was something else today - hope Sam brings same result tonight

For all of the Blues fans who have travelled over - thank you and enjoy the game! I'm married to a mad blues supporter, so whatever the result is both of us won't be happy!

Beautiful city you have over here.

Happy to be back here again

Thanks to all of you for the hospitality.

Of the additions this week, who's going to have the biggest influence tonight?

(a) Walsh

(b) Acres

(c) Kennedy

I'm going for Acres, he's just what we needed.
idiot

Acres. Think Walsh and Kennedy will be slightly rusty but better for the run.

We covered a lot in this thread….just about every aspect of in/outs, game plans, past encounters, weather, etc etc ….

Walsh. He doesn’t accept other players having a bigger influence.

Just realised Adelaide's last 3 games have been at Adelaide Oval. Our game makes it 4 of the first 5.

Quirk of the draw given they played Port and Gather round happens to be in SA.

The 1 away game they lost to GWS who lost 3 or 4 players in game including Kelly and Whitfield.

So not sold on them yet, they need to win away. Plus they started strong last season before falling away.

We've got them at a bad time, 4th week in a row at Adelaide Oval.
