Realistically our future second is likely to be eaten up by matching bids on Ashcroft et al. Our second pick this year (which is at the Dogs) is pick 40 which is worth ~400 odd points. I think we can comfortably make up those points next year if needed.

There’s plenty of players with wel over 50+ games with AFL credentials and various AFL medals who are getting less than some mid season bloke the club has access to for years and now willing to pay through the nose for when we have his type on the list. At best worth a fourth rounder.

I hadn’t realised this bloke has been on our radar for years so beats me we’re now interested when Lane, Smith and Fort are already on the list.
