Agree with most of what you're saying, but I'd argue that it's our inability to chase, tackle and put pressure on the opposition ball carrier that is a more fundamental problem. It will always be hard for our defenders to defend, when the opposition can waltz down the ground under absolutely no pressure.

Oh yeah sure, that plays a huge role too.

Who have you got running around in state leagues that can fill a key position defender role until we can develop our own.
Oscar Mcdonald , limited but these are the types we might need to look at for a short term role?
Is Petric still showing promise?
How is Mutaz El Nour going at Richmond?

Any key position forwards looking ok as we might have to move Comben back?

Oscar McDonald & Ethan Phillips are probably the only 2 key defenders that really spring to mind. I'd probably go Phillips over McDonald though. Phillips is a better contested mark, but the question is on his mobility.

Petric is still showing some promise, playing as a key defender for the Jets. Had his best game on the weekend with 29 disposals, 9 marks and 5 tackles. I think he looks really natural as a key defender and he has enough upside to be on an AFL list as a rookie.

Archie May is another over age key forward who I think we should investigate looking at. He is still only 18 but is a big lump of a kid at 197cm and around that 92-93kg mark. Is a strong contested mark and isn't afraid to throw his body around. He has kicked 17.8 in only 6 games for Sandringham.E

El Nour is going okay at Richmond without being outstanding, he hasn't really built on his game from last year so I wouldn't imagine he'd be on many clubs radars.

Wouldn't say there are many key forwards out there in the state leagues that are worth taking. If we were really desperate maybe Hudson Garoni from Werribee.

List manager getting interviewed after the draft - we were on the lookout for a KPD but Judd cousins was to good to pass up , yeah we know he’s another 180cm mid but his skill set is unique to this group

Yeah later picks is where we haven’t balanced the list - even picking brayden George when we took sheez and we knew we were taking cooper.
