Im no ITK but my source was speaking with his family and said he loves Port , has no issue with the club he just wants to come home and is a Saints supporter, so im guessing the club will already be putting a plan ( Target ) in place for when Nas decides to tell them he wants to go home .
Berg would be a good result IMO
Would seem like a logical swap between the clubs for 2 similarly rated players in the same situation.

Just looked up Bergman and see he is a St Bede’s product.
Makes me wonder if your ITK has a spiritual connection?
Brother…..?
Did you and Dr Spaceman have a Mass experience recently?
I'm seeing my source tomorrow so I will see what else he has to say

Seems the consensus from a number of sources. Feel a bit for the kid, want to do the right thing but just can't settle.
Sad for us but wish him well.

Don’t know anything about this kid - what’s his position and who could you compare him to?

Not sure what goal kicking numbers have to do with a half back flanker?
Just demonstrating that he's actually not very accurate with his kicking, even when he's having set shots. Anybody who thinks he's an elite kick ATM is deluding themselves.

Looks great, should improve but at the moment - yeah nah!!.

PS - all of last years scores (1.6) were from when he was playing wing.

His KE% last year was 61.4, but he's usually the one taking the riskier kicks instead of those with a higher % that chip it around in the D50. Not to mention he was a first year player.

He needs to improve for sure, but he opens the game up with his kicking.

Berg can’t settle and wants to come home, possibly to us = good.

NAS can’t settle and wants to go home, possibly for a bad deal for us = bad.

Can’t make this shit up.

Fact is, if he’s given/giving it a red hot go, and it seems like he has and is, you gotta let him go, and if we’re happy to get Miles under the same circumstances we should shut up and show some humanity.

I like NAS, I was stoked when we got him, but there are bigger things than footy.

NAS for Bergman - straight swap or thereabouts - is a pretty fair deal.

Don't doubt his kicking may become a weapon (for somebody) but I'm simply saying he misses too many kicks that aren't "risky" for him to be considered an elite kick ATM.

Hopefully things turn before we have to trade him. (Although I still think he might extend his contract with us.)

Nice looking kick, but not that accurate.

His first lot of games were excellent but he was running around loose on half back with no opponent. Now he's more accountable and under pressure his kicks aren't as clean. Hopefully as he settles he'll get that precision back.

He started off half back with stints at HFF and is meant to turn into a wingman longer term.

Has played half back, half forward and now settled on a wing

Tall and very athletic, good over head and can win his own footy

Missed a fair bit of footy through injury and illness but looks like having a bit of a break out season this year

Why are we talking about some Ed Philips lookalike who Port drafted at pick 14 3 years ago as an apt replacement for Nas who is younger and more talented?

I would assume that in this scenario, we would also get steak knives picks in the trade, or is Bergman himself the steak knives?

Humanity is something I'm willing to do after the fact and upon reflection. Until then I will beat a path to enlightenment by self-indulgent spleen venting fecklessness, as is my desire and want (I'm willing to wear the heat... it's cold in Ireland)

100% this

you wanna keep him and we should be doing everything we can to keep him but if we cant we just gotta get the best deal possible. not sure if berg is it though

Interesting all this talk of Nas. Did I hear Lyon say yesterday he spent 20 minutes talking with a 2nd year player this week who’s not on his game at the moment. Logically that has to be Nas. He was better in the second half but still doesn’t look anywhere near comfortable at the level at the moment in my opinion. Rushes everything. The most important thing if he stays or goes is for him to play well this year and continue his development. Can’t let the off field stuff get in the way of on field.
I think half back is not the best position for Nas. Lots of tackling pressure from the opposition, same reason Hill also sucked at half back.

Nas is good when there is plenty of space for him to run into. He is not the best defender/lack physicality, then panicks when he has to dispose the ball, it’s a lose lose situation, I really hope he can turn it around, but I see Paton is a much better choice at half back.
