The compo system is way out of date if the average wage is 500k.

The compo system is based on percentage.
If your new contract is among the top 5% of AFL earners it triggers band 1.
If your new contract is among the top 15 percent of AFL earners it triggers band 2.
If your new contract is among the top 30% of AFL earners : 3
50% =4.

Dodoro just said on Trade Radio that he is not talking to St Kilda about Gresham and is only talking to Gresham’s Manager. Dismissed the suggestion that he was talking to our club with complete disregard.

Paperwork for Gresham to be lodged in the next 24 hours.

He is such an arrogant flog. Contemptuous of our club.

If Hird comes back he’ll be gone again. And given that rabble and their obsession with the original orange one, it will be sooner rather than later.

Underhanded deals for compensation really aren't very common.

This whole thing fell over the moment we knocked back taking Shiels dodgy body and hefty salary off Essendons list in exchange for them paying overs to activate band 1. Surprised they haven't offerd up another list clogger to add to the dealings or maybe thats the hold up. Would also be surprised if Freo weren't keenly watching all of this considering they are loosing two similar roll players. Need a bidding war.

Sounds like they want to use the Gresham pick to trade for Henry or take to the draft.

It does seem like underwhelming compensation though after all F/S and academy bids are matched.

It wouldn't have been less than he was on but it was probably a LOT less than what his agent told him he'd get. Goes to show the quality of the player really. Wanted to be overpaid and we said no, went to Essendon and couldn't get the deal he wanted, now we will give him what we think he's worth.

He's just not a very good player.

I don't understand , Gresham would of known the ball park figure the Saints would give to him , the Bombers would have to clearly beat that if they nominated him.

Gresham wanted more than we were prepared to pay him.
Therefore if they pay Gresham what he's chasing, we won't match.
The fact that its taking so long suggests they are trying to lowball Gresham.
