A shame to lose Gresham but if we can turn the pick we got for him into Henry that would probably be a win for us.

Henry has better kicking skills than Gresh at the very least but so do I so that's not much of an achievement.

He’s an extractor but he’s a s**t kick. Like a more consistent Dunny.
Wines would not be happy he was pushed out of the midfield and onto a wing for the best part of the season and could well be looking at moving from Port and another guy that could well be on the outer is Heeney , big contract and not setting the world on fire.
There could well be movement from GWS as well , they would love to move one of there long contract guys and use that money on Tom Green , Ash and the likes.

I fully expect there will be a couple big names put to clubs.

But would you want a 30yr old Wines next year , I wouldn't - I feel the heavy set players like him and even Petracca I feel will be lucky to play into there 30s - just because of all of the bullocking work they do and will end up with injuries which will kill there career.
Heeney could well do but has he ever been a midfielder.
Oliver could well still be traded but with all the stories about the guy would you even look at him now.

I have it on good authority that we are heavily into a contracted player from Geelong.
He’s contracted to 2024 and is happy to look into his options.
I’ll just leave this name here for you all.
Max Holmes

Would love him. Ticks all the boxes of the right age and type of mid we need, but would be super difficult to do.

You've been borderline Essendon supporter IQ lately. Time to have a snooze champion
Speaking of that IQ, just had a look at current discussions over in the safe injecting room

Much of the talk is about what they will spend their warchest on in future years

Someone may need to explain to them that if you have $2 million dollars, and you spend $2 million dollars, then you don't have $2 million dollars anymore

Ha, safe, nah they just GTFO out of Melb central and near an airport so no one notices is all.

How about Wines to Geelong and Holmes to the saints?

Not trade talk, I spose, but really looking forward to what the Hammer can provide with a genuine AFL preseason under his belt.

Real BDE from the lad.

I would look at any good mids that are not contracted till they are totally finished.
I'd love Kelly or Whitfield but they will have Alzheimer by the time they end there contract.

For instance with Wines he still has 3 yrs on his contract which will take him to 33, however this year looking at his disposals it was the worst he has had since his first year (11yrs).
He has been durable playing over 20 games the last 5yrs but that could easily come to a screaming halt.
Wines is a game changer when playing his best football , busting packs winning contested ball but does he add anything different to Steele or Crouch - I don't think so.
The reason he was pushed to the wing this year was Butters and Rozee were the better option being the core of there midfield.

Holmes is a good prospect but contract expires next year - the Cats would want something good for him though - trade him for Billings and something.
