So that's a mill with those two
1.8 including gresh plus billings on prob 600/650
2.4m

Get rid of all of em ffs lol
All 4 could leave. Howard makes 5. But I’m comfortable with what he got.

Only one close to fulfilling that contract.

Hmmm..what is “a deal upwards of $600 000?“
Doesn’t sound like enough to get an end of first round pick.
Is the pick #13 thing looking a little wobbly now?
What would be the point of Shiel really, that being the case? Certainly we shouldn’t have to pay his salary. I’d rather match.
With the new player agreements happening, thats not going to be an extraordinary amount is it?
I think we'd need him to get around $700K for an end of first round.

Honestly I'll just be happy to see the back of Gresh. His season this year was seriously putrid. 600-650 great good on him, I'm sure he'll put the Essendon Football Club on his shoulders alongside Ben McKay.

Seriously just let him go and take whatever the compo is, he isn't worth it.

95 % TPP needs to be paid.
WCE paid 5% at most less than Collingwood.
Absolute joke.

Leave we’re gonna have to heavily front load a few contracts for at least a year in order to make minimum payments.
We could have an absolute treasure chest available to us for fa’s and/or
Bing next
Year

there was some report 1-2 weeks ago about melbourne shaking the foundations of the whole trade period with some mega trade,i just thought it was one of those things, some here were throwing up hypotheticals mostly centered around steele if it possibly involved us,most only thought about who they might be after

dont think anybody gave thought to who might be going out,but could this oliver thing be what was alluded to?

Look I wouldnt be surprised if they tried to trade Oliver out and tried to get their hands on Reid.

That seems like second round compo.

Just match it.

Take them to the trade table for 2 second rounders
Yes.
Problem is, if we ARE actually keen on Shiel for the reason you mentioned previously and we still take him. Then we have another Hanners situation, albeit it shorter term, on our hands.

I was happy to keep him, but the 800k has annoyed me. Let the greedy campaigner walk, won't miss the 35m mungrel punts.

We'll just pay the next lot of kids like stars before they've earned it like we have every other time. If they come on it looks genius. If not we can try to offload them all and start the process again.

And we are in the same boat with 95% overpaying gops, and then they think they are worth that on the open market.
Always thought 4 years for Billings was two years too many.
Gres on 800k? Lol

We've made some shocking contract calls. That Gresh one looks bad but the Billings four year contract sticks out like a sore thumb. No one wanted him, yet we gave him four years. It was putrid.

Allison's ridiculous contract extension not far behind.

Not really, Essendon pay half. Offer a year + 1 with triggers. We pay 450k this season and if he can activate the trigger( 15 games or something) 600k and also meaning he has been a success.
If not it costs 450k for one season.

Still would rather just forget the whole thing if we can't get pick 13.
