If we pay some of Billings and then most of Shiel then we’re getting fuarked.

If we aren't getting pick paid back our way to take him we are getting done.

G'day Saints

Not here to stir but wanting to know your honest opinion on Billings? What has he got going for him and what has he got issues with?

Frm a Dess fan
He's a neat and reliable player that just can't handle pressure.
When the whips are cracking, you'll see why we are trading him.

who can use the ball

Temper your expectations.

He has a nice kicking action- but does not mean he uses the ball well.

Idiot commentators etc have been sucked in by it for years.
But the reality is- he usually/always takes the safe option.
Why?

Because his kicking is only average.
Not terrible- but not excellent.

He's the sort of guy that will kick a ball so it becomes a 50/50 contest (or worse)- whereas a legit good kick would have been able to put it to his teammates advantage (ie 70/30 contest or better)

Billings and Gresham gone in the same week

Just called club have upgraded membership for 2024

If Howard goes I'll go buy another
Absolute gold there George.

Your on fire today !!!!!!!!

I'm just about ready to call 000.

He's been coasting for a long time.

Must have come as a shock to Billings that RTB didn't rate him and didn't consider playing him leaving him to waste away in the seconds.

I was hoping Billings could at least be good fringe value to us moving forwards as his better football is solid but he might be past it looking at his VFL numbers this year.

One good thing to come out of this trade and the Gresham trade too, is those who don't work hard enough are being shown the door.

Not a bad thing.
Great effort from his players is mandatory under the boss

We will have to agree to disagree on this subject.

When fit and playing i don't believe he came close to fulfilling his potential.

That in essence is a work rate issue from my perspective.

Not hating on him either. I saw him as fair to solid.
He’s mentally fragile too but hope his fresh start works out

Bit of a contradiction there don't you think?

How can he reliable but when the pressure's on, he's not?

He's got talent and decent skills but zero guts I reckon. Shits his pants when kicking for goal. And his mum still packs his lunch.

How's the contrast between the way StK are approaching players who want a fresh start & the Dopers?

Dodo trying to shaft D'Ambrosio despite them only offering him a rookie deal & Hawthorn offering a guaranteed senior spot and Ess a reasonable pick in return.

Shiel not in their plans or best 22 but pricing him out of any serious chance at getting another chance.

v

Coffield & Billings.

We may be disappointed with what we get back in return but we're also doing the right thing by players.

And that stuff gets noticed by player management.
