I assume it’s a given that we take Welsh and would have told him as much last year in convincing him to play for our sanfl side. The kid quit school to focus on footy.
I imagine he would have had a very different regimen this year if he weren’t on a promise. And I suspect he’s probably been on a Burgess fitness regime this year aimed at being afl ready in the next year or two rather than on a regime focussed on getting drafted.

He did spend time there and played with their VFL side from memory. They did seem to be quite invested in him and he is a very good player
Yep Jagga would be a good choice for them I think. Reckon Ashcroft pips him in an open pool, I wonder if Richmond will bid on him. Pick 2 then is anybody's guess.

Richmond is in negotiations with Brisbane to try and get their first pick 17 or 18 and not drafting Ashcroft at pick 1 will be a bargaining chip. Richmond has many late selections they’ll send Brisbanes way for points to match any bid for Ashcroft that may come after pick 1.
Richmond has also trialled Finn O’Sullivan and Harvey Langford, therefore Jagga Smith is not a given for the Tigers first.
Who knows. Coincidentally, I stumbled upon a news article today, from earlier in the year which stated “Adelaide have made it very clear to the rest of the competition that their first pick is up for grabs”.

Channel 7 reporting Draper does not want to come to the Crows because of their treatment of Rachelle.
I'd be surprised if that's actually the case.
