Still, get the key forward in and he gets a year of development into him and maybe plays a game or 2 next year. They get the 1st pick on night 2 of that draft and its a heavily compromised draft. They have also had a shed tonne of top end kids come in in the last few years - time to park the rebuild and start performing is going to have to be their mantra.

Suppose they have a choice who they choose for that defensive role now either stick with Comben or groom Whitlock for that role, with the other to help Larkey. Obviously doesn’t look a great move but probably in their position they think getting 12 months development on a key tall rather than having to wait 12 months to get one anyway was worth the shitty deal on paper
