Not sure I understand people’s reluctance to Max playing. Surely him pushing for selection is a good thing…? Would love to see him come in and play well

I have no problem with him pushing for section but his form in the VFL was pretty average before getting selected as an emergency. I think Garcia has a had a better run of form.

The match a week after a Saints traditional mid season Grand Final win over the top team is an absolute banana skin game.

The battle for pick 4 or 5 is on!

Our first pick could be higher.

If we win and get on a small roll we may go past the Hawks, who have some tough games to go and I could see them now losing more games than they win. Also the Hawks last game could well decide our pick fate as they are playing North who are no longer the easybeats they started the season as.

How long before our N° 7 has enough of a league-wide profile to simply be referred to as "Naz" by everyone in AFL, the way Dusty, Danger and others are?

Most commentators can't even say his 9-syllable name correctly - "Wangaleen Milera" the classic goto despite his namesake uncle being one of the AFL's more famous ex-players.

The way he's going, I think everyone will follow Mark Robinson's lead and just refer to him as "Nas" before the year is out.

I'll admit , i'm favouring Nas, due to sheer laziness.

I reckon the Saints social media team should make a pronunciation explainer as above for commentators like Jobe and BT, each syllable containing a highlight of his play.

So is it Naz or Nas by the end of the year?

Those bananas are unripe. Yuck!!

How many wins in a row until we start talking the F bomb?

Asking for a friend...

Just tried the ladder predictor to see if it's possible. Gave us every game and we missed out on the 8 by percentage. We'd need to get a few big wins as well as winning every remaining game or hope GWS or Brisbane drop a couple of unexpected games. Looks almost impossible.

Naz should publicly state that he feels offended at being called Naz and that he prefers his full name.
That would force commentators to do the full name, would be a good troll.

Please, they can’t even say PhilliPO(sic) and insist on saying PhilliPOO.
And don’t get me started (again) on the Saint Kilda thing 🤣

A pity, as I reckon we've thrown away three games at least which we could have won if we had put in a four quarter effort. A bit of a nothing year for the Sainters.

I was stunned when i saw how few stats Membrey generated.
To me his physical presence around the ball was huge.
He also did a lot of tapping the groundball to teammates, ( rather than grabbing it and getting immediately tackled ), which i don't think generates a stat.
Problem with Tim this year, and it's been really noticeable imo, is that his first touch always seems to be a fumble, putting him under pressure all the time. It's coincided with him uncharacteristly dropping pretty simple mark.

but it a waste of energy to try to educate either Jobe or BT. Jobe is far too thick and BT has a successful schtick that is too comfortable for him to change. However, both are preferrable to that carping, cynical, monotone whinger Hodge, who points out what he reckons should have happened with the benefit of both hindsight and advanced technology. Even then, despite the help of specialist producers, some of his absurd speculation is physically impossible. His boring hit-behind-play bleating squeezes the last remaining drops out of any potential enjoyment there might have been in watching the game with the sound up!!!

In general, TV footy coverage/commentary is on a par with the AFL's management of the game. They undermine the beauty, excitement and uniqueness of the game and we are all poorer because of their collective inability to perform far better than the game deserves.

The game has saddened me this week, the treatment of Adam Simpson by the media and that front page by the West Australian was absolutely disgraceful. Just un human behaviour.

I apologise in advance as I know this is not the pace for this post but just wanted to get that off my chest.

It would be pretty St Kilda to win every game from here and finish 9th.
