Mate, if he was a genuine turnover merchant, he wouldn’t be ranked in the top 10.
Every club wants to get there hands on him. I don’t believe its as bad as your making it out.
You said he was replacing Nas.

Rewatch our games and see how important his kicking is and how high degree of difficulty a lot of those kicks are.

You don’t have to be a bad kick to accept he would turn the ball over trying to replicate Nas.

Nas is a high risk high reward kick, as is Hill to a lesser degree

Surely we take best available and then the next best mid? Tauru and then Allan. Especially if we have Allan in our top 12 best players and there isn’t a clear gulf in talent between Travaglia and Allan. Surely that’s the luxury you can afford if you have 2 top 10 picks. I on best available and 1 on need within reason

I will say tho if NAS leaves which unfortunately I believe is a big chance, Travaglia would be the perfect replacement
He isn’t half the kick Nas is. I see him as a poorer kicking Jimmy Webster to be honest and about as likely as Billings and coffield at becoming a mid.

Surely there is better ways to use a top 10 pick even if the Top 7 mids are gone.

I like both players but don't love the combo. But I can understand why we are saying we take best available and hope for mids. Looks like the mids ain't happening so it's best available.

I'll be thrilled if we land Tauru.

I haven't watched much of Travaglia but reading his RookieMe profile, he's got speed and a high workmate to move into the midfield. Seems like someone who will suit Ross' style perfectly so not the worst. Described as similar to Will Day type, which would be a nice addition to the future midfield.

A flanker with midfield potential. Where have I heard that before...

I think I’ll throw up if we don’t take a single midfielder with 2 top 10 picks. If we take Tauru & Travaglia plus Hoffmann, Peckett & Cole… that’s 5 defenders.

If Bo Allan is the “next best” midfielder after our pick then we should take him. Travaglia i’m happy to give a miss!
I think Allan makes perfect sense. He could start out competing for battles role and transition to the midfield once he builds an afl engine over a couple of preseasons.

Even Reid makes more sense than taking two intercepting defenders with iffy kicking

Awesome,Travalgia,Taurus,Hoffman and Cole All Defenders
😂 It is actually quite funny. What can you do other than laugh?!

Looking on the bright side. We could have the best and most attacking backline in the comp if this phantom was accurate. Lyon could introduce a whole new game style.

All attacks emanating from a wave of runners through the back flanks and wings, rather than through the midfield.

Imagine the running power of NWM, Sinclair and Travaglia linking up with the elite running power of Hill and Wilson through the wings.

There is also the beautiful kicking of Schoenmaker and Hastie into a mobile and separated forward line.

With Wilkie, Tauru and Hoffmann intercepting everything in the air forward of the centre.

Putting a positive spin on it all. Pace is not a problem except in the midfield. So work around it. There wouldn’t be many sides that could match us for run on the outside.

Let’s see what happens.

Or we could just trade out Sinclair Ro and Steele in 12 months time - and maybe we can land a few genuine mids and try play football the way it’s been played across its history.
