I'm late to this. What's the hate on him?
We selected him and he is not a pure mid, so some are having tanty's without ever seeing him. I would have preferred Reid myself and a bit disappointed but all the best mids were gone, so I will back the club and back the kid instead of shitcanning him.

Pretty low from some on here.

Geez, this has Nick Coffield vibes. It's a midfielders game now, and we're not even grabbing one with two top 10 picks.

Those sugar hit wins late in the season have really hurt us.

You're always taking Tauru with one pick.

Which gun mids did we miss out on by taking Travaglia?

Levi Ashcroft was bid on at 5 and the best pick Brisbane used was 40. The differential of 35 is the second highest ever.

Biggest differential between bid and best pick used

40 - Liam Henry (2019) - Bid at 9, best pick used 49

35 - Levi Ashcroft (2024) - 5, 40

34 - Nick Daicos (2021) - 4, 38

34 - Tarryn Thomas (2018) - 8, 42

32 - Will Ashcroft (2022) - 2, 34

32 - Sam Darcy (2021) - 2, 34

32 - Isaac Cumming (2016) - 20, 52

31 - Leo Lombard (2024) - 9, 40

31 - Tom Green (2019) - 10, 41

31 - Harry Himmelberg (2015) - 16, 47

30 - Jackson Mead (2019) - 25, 55

30 - Callum Mills (2015) - 3, 33

I actually laughed when I saw Twomey's list. I thought there is no way we draft 2 defenders, one of the mid sized. Thought that is too ridiculous even for us.

Well here we are. Never change Saints.

SOS is scaring me. List strategy is obsessing over Carlton rejects and ignoring ball winning mids. FMD.
If there is one man that can pick keys it’s SOS…midfielders is another story. He did bag Weitering, Curnow, McKay and Dekoning without a miss. Then followed that up with Dow and SPS.

Has been exactly zero posts shit canning him personally.

Was, an AA. Not the same player, but you know that.

A lot of pressure on Pou and Wilson to become stars now. Under 25 midfield depth compared to other clubs is frightening.
Who said he isn't the same footballer? He is a pure mid that was played out of position for two years. But you know that as well.

You have all cried like children over his selection, it is bagging him completely and totally.

Will be a pleasure to point you all out in a few years by linking this thread.

Yep

Once we decided to use 7 and 8- we've made the right decision and taking best avail.

Whether we made the right decision to not trade up or down- we'll never know.
Hopefully we tried VERY hard to make something happen with trading up or down.

But if we left no stone unturned in trying to trade up or down without being worse off- then taking best available at 7 and 8 is next best outcome.
What’s the point of best available if it’s not what we need
