Getting a mid that gets 25+ every week would be great but not essential in our midfield. We need power and speed with the ability to compete with bigger midfields. Bo Allan offers that. Whilst he isn’t experienced in the midfield or a high clearance player, he does halve a lot of clearances his team would lose without him due to his pressure. I think he would have a decent impact on our clearance differential regardless of whether he is getting clearances himself.

Don't want Smillie. His name is Josh.

Will need a girlfriend to dictate his every move.

Not ideal.

Josh Saunders is asking his mum if he can reply in a very assertive way right at this moment.

Why do people keep mentioning 193 as if it is too small.
Curnow is 194, Steven May is 193, Sicily is 188, Waterman is 192, Fritsch is 188, Aliir is 194, Sam Collins is 194, Josh Battle is 194, Wilkie is 191

In terms of draft picks, and especially early picks, then yes you may take the talented 193 player, as you assess all their qualities and being better in some of those qualities (including vertical leap) can offset a lack in other qualities.

While I get your point, the forward, or backlines, ideally need to be a mix of player heights. Quality is always important, but some positions will always be filled by role players, or GOPS.

Ideally you want at least one really tall key back and and key forward. So 193 is fine if you have a taller defender as well.
Having said that virtually every team will have some type of deficiencies, and height alone is not a guarantee (ie Cox at Collingwood). So teams will run at times with short back, or forward, lines because they just do not have adequate quality taller players.

Battle is 193 I believe. The Hawks lured Battle 193 from us, but they also grabbed Barass at 197 to balance out and improve their backline.

May be only 193 but has exceptional strength, and excellent judgement. Trevor Barker was a freak! So players of of 193-ish if they are good enough can certainly play a key position. Do you want both your CHF/FF or CHB/FB to only be 193 though?

Fritsch is a very good forward, but personally I would not want him to be playing the Key Forward role week in/ week out, just as I also did not want Membrey to be doing so. "Third tall" role is where they shine.

Wilkie is exceptional and can certainly play FB well, but I think we see the best of him when he is freed up with Dougal (or eventually another tall) playing the FB role.

Unless we trade up, or a tallish player goes early to push a quality mid back, it looks as would go best available with our first two picks (if not traded) which may gain the 193 Taura!. But then again we may instead try and trade down to gain two other players instead. Much will depend on what we can gain in a trade, and/or if North will trade with us at ok price.

Well he did average 4 clearances a game.
I’ve sung his praises but maybe it’s time we let go, it’s not looking likely 😂

We always need to be trying to improve it but you don't need to panic buy. Macrae buys us some time to get it right at our own pace. I think Phillipou has shown he has class. Hugo has all the tools to be something special. We have picks in the next draft and we are also in the hunt for LDU types.
Reid and Lindsay would be good gets

If first name is read at 7.30, which seems unlikely and could be another 10 mins of waffle - that’s 7 picks prior (with Ashcroft), then 8.15 at earliest?

Throw in a possible bid. Then if we bid twice (so 8 is outside of the real 10), add another 5 mins for top 10 photo opp if they still do that? Could be 8.20 and beyond 8.30 for the second pick 😂.

It’s just been lobbed on my desk that my son has to be picked up at school at 8pm. 30 min round trip. Could have killed an army with my facial expression.
Does your son have detention

Using a 2nd rounder on a big ruckman ( and potentially another mature one as a SSP) would mean we still have a big ??? on Moose

Not necessarily the club moved him onto the main list, he is just taking so time to develop which is not unusual for ruckman. The thing with Moose is he is also useful forward which gives the club the option of playing two ruckman. I think thats critical for any ruckman these days, they have to other tools in their kit bags.

Yeah there are a number of options, but just to get 15,16 & 21 off GWS would be enormous!
Probably another nice thing that won’t happen.

Only the best possible outcome for us tonight
