A trade like that is just gambling on your own team. It should never go through. If it goes badly, the list manager is out of there anyway and the supporters (and the rest of the comp, really) are left holding the bag.

Because the AFL cannot, in good faith, say that North will be a bottom 4 team. Look at the Hawks this year.

Now, most of us can see what's coming, the AFL peeps just can't say it out loud.

List managers and coaches are going to be mortgaging the future just to hold on to their job for another year!

There is no scenario where that is balanced.

With a list like that, wouldn't be surprised to see Richmond sell the first pick of the second round for another future first.

Lousy draft for key forwards, Faull was first taken at 14, Armstrong tumbled to 23, poor Whitlock's gone to Norf at 27, other Whitlock and Shanahan still on the board despite the first round being an absurd 27 picks.

I don't think it's that bad. Especially igiven plenty had Whitlock in the 15-18 range.

I wouldn't be surprised if we go for another tomorrow.
