Goodbye my boy, I wonder if he can come back home as steak knives with Callaghan?

We had our chances and only ourselves to blame if he reaches his potential. Hope he goes well at the Giants - will definitely be keeping an eye on him up there.

Rucks are over rated mate.

The Tigers took THREE tall forwards over the "gun" ruck.

Teams know that you can grab a ruck from the state leagues or as a delisted option most years.
We don't have many tall forwards either. Hammer has yet to prove himself and King is injury prone.

Passing on Whitlock is just dumb.

So sick of being undersized as well. We are skinny and short across the entire field.

Wilkie is a gun but is forced to constantly play taller than he should. If we insist on recruiting another defender than at least get one that is 198cm+.
yeah cos our defense was a shambles this year

some of these posts read like recruiting "experts" in the film Moneyball

I feel like that would be mighty close to the date my boy Armo was drafted! Wow way to make you feel old.

Perhaps a fitting changing of the guard is duee...

So difficult to get on board with what we've done here.

What happens if Marshall goes down? Heath? Keeler? Throw Hammer in the ruck?

They're our options now.

Could've taken the best ruck in the draft but nope, let's grab another defender.
He’s 18yo, he presumably won’t be ready to play for years.

Maybe we we really rate Heath.

From what I've just been reading about him he sounds like he is a better pick than some people here are making it out to be.

Like all draft picks though only time will tell how good he is but he sounds like he could be a handy key defender/key forward.
I’m rapt with this one. Seems likely they see one of them as a forward, but we haven’t had high level interceptors for a while

Was hoping for Whitlock since the Champs, was there on the Board at 32 no less, we pass on him.
That killed me.

Ought to be hugely better next year if we get “good Phillipou” for a whole year in there, plus Macrae. Those two alone will be a monumental upgrade on who we had in there with Steele in the first half of the season in particular.

Then who knows, perhaps Clark will finally have a good run at it and have a breakout year, and Dow might as well have not even played this year, so he’s like a new recruit as well, if he’s fully fit.
Good Lord....finals here we come.

We don't get scored against because of Lyons super flood. Doesn't mean we have great one on one defenders.

We have Wilkie and that is pretty much it. He is also much better we not in a lockdown role. Howard is serviceable for now, but we have no full back coming through.
