Barrat has played mainly as a lead-up forward - leading goal kicker in the CTL after round six with 18 goals. Was swung into defense late in the year, playing the last 7 games at CHB. He isn't just another backman who has potential to go forward. He is also an actual forward as well. Plenty of draft-watchers have been raving about him all year.
Yep some of this blow up is embarrassing. Just wait and see how it shakes out. This would even bring the Grim Reaper down. This kid could really be a beauty.

When the dust dies down, there is a theme here that we need to unpack a little.

Tauru, Barat and even Trav are all swingmen / utility / multi position types

Add that to Sharman, Wood, Owens, Pou etc etc

All 'in-between' size at 188 - 194. Not quite KPP build, but bigger and stronger than most mids / flankers.

All can really run and mark. And there is something about that 'type' that we clearly love, and I assume, we are building a gameplan around.

Pair that with players that can run all day and spread, and we are really prioritizing being able to cover anywhere and everywhere on the ground
Lyon loves speed, said he took the Saints job because they could run.

We showed if we got on the outside, nobody could outrun us.
I am trying to be logical about these trades, has to be a method in their madness.

Is he that much better than Barrat?

Or was his name put higher up in mock drafts, overinflating his value?

Both brothers went way later than most expected.
I am by no means a draft expert, I just want to see some balance on the list.

We clearly need another tall forward.

So difficult to get on board with what we've done here.

What happens if Marshall goes down? Heath? Keeler? Throw Hammer in the ruck?

They're our options now.

Could've taken the best ruck in the draft but nope, let's grab another defender.

I think we might grab a ruckman late in the draft or as a rookie.

Swans taking Bailey Rice!

Sorry, no, it's Riley Bice!

Go look at Barrat mate.

Ave 2+ goals a game as a forward before being moved to CHB.

He's James Sicily/Josh Battle all over again.

FU Geelong. Ty Gallop, who? Better not try it on for us as well.

Boxshall still there, actually still a lot of talent around. My roughie Jacob Newton too. I don't love Gross, but Rory Sloane comparisons make me want to love him anyway.
