Sometimes you just have to take the punt . It’s reported Tmac is on 8-900k so not much difference and he was shit this year.

Think of it as paying 300k a year to turn Parker in Oliver

I'd rather keep Parker for one year than risk Oliver for 6

We have to try something. Coz what wer doing now ain’t working.

Watch Geelong get him for pick 62 and become an all Australian again

I wore pink socks once, I will try anything.

But just not sure why this out of shape guy who seems content with one flag is meant to thrill me on a 6 year deal

Depending on what pick you offer will scale how much the demons chip in per year.

His new club won’t be paying the full contract

Sure , Dees will pay him to not play for 6 years ?

Jesus Christ. First visit to this thread in forever and the first thing I read is let's recruit an inconsistent, arrogant ****wit who has no problems cheating on his pregnant missus with 16 year old schoolgirls and let's also go after a good player that has barely played this last 12 months because he is so damaged from a mental perspective.

While we are at it, why don't we give away Heeney, Rowbottom, Gulden, Warner and a few others for 5th rounders and burn Swans HQ to the ground?

Oh, and before I disappear never to return to this cesspool of a thread, may Parker have a great time at North. Hopefully in the grand tradition of St Kilda they are taking a washed up and worn out veteran off our hands.

3 & 13 is close to fair value just for chad if he's wanting out, and would give us 4 1st rounders (pick 3 netting us the best big mid in the draft whose ready to impact from Rd 1 - no flipping skinny flankers ).

Hypothetical, but would offer 13 and a future 2nd or our super late first rounder from north as a starting point for Clarry . Clarrys value would have plummeted this year. I'd also try to get Melbourne to pay part of his salary and be happy to part with an extra pick (future 2nd or the nth Melbourne pick - whichever wasn't offered).

Warner would have costed similar so if we can turn Warner into pick 3 + Clarry (with Melbourne covering $200k/year) that'd be a decent outcome.

The Media linked Stringer to us not the other way around.

Clarry whoever he goes to is a MASSIVE risk yes Geelong included they arent some omnipotent club Jack Stevens went off the rails/Stengle who knows what they cover up with him.

With 3 and the other first rounders to hit the draft with.

Yeah that part is fine…not the giving away Corey for nothing and Sheldrick for nothing they are worth a third and a second

Oliver wouldn't cost too much to get. Demons would put up a brave face, but they would be thrilled to get off his money. If they chip in a decent amount then you can start talking about a better pick and no it wouldn't be a first rounder.

There has been varying reports on what he has left, I've seen from 6/$5.5m to 6/$6.5m.

BUT having said all that you would need to be signing up to babysit him on and off the field. Off the field because he might just do similar off field activities as he was doing with the Dees. I don't see him curbing that behaviour just yet.
Then on the field if he isn't getting the centre of attention treatment he gets upset.

TBH the Swans might be the only club that could set him straight, but it would be a monumental task, and only then would he be a factor on field, albeit a seriously huge one if he gets his life in order and concentrates on fitness.

We are going backwards regardless, this team is mentally shot, can't see us doing anything moving forward
I'm inclined to agree. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we missed the finals next year and it is then capped with a few favourite players requesting trades. Two results like this in 3 years means that we can't go the the next GF with the same group.

Good guys don't win. We need to move away form the good guy rhetoric. Geelong have and their culture is doing just fine. You bring in guys who can play first and foremost. They seem to have no issue chasing Oliver and bailey smith, and swept Stengle under the carpet despite him going out getting shitfaced every weekend. Spare me the 'no dickheads' policy bullshit. A couple of them had medals around their neck on saturday, and their fanbase is happy as larry. Half of them became professional plumbers laying pipes in Las Vegas only 8 months ago.

If you think we've got a team of outstanding citizens, let alone in this day and age, then you're in for a reality check. I know of some first hand sources who tell me that quite a few of our players have great form off the field in more ways than you think.

Whether you agree or disagree with the sentiment expressed, this is certainly a high-quality rant.

Kudos to you Mister B !

Got no problems with bypassing the no dickheads policy, but for someone tiptoeing along the line of pedophilia and a player that will likely spend a majority of the season on the sidelines. Surely, we can do better than that.

You are most welcome. I give it another 5 or 6 weeks before the anger from the GF subsides and I return to rational posting.

Think what you think re Stringer (and i'm not overly informed re that situation), but two clubs have been more than happy to wear him since. I don't understand why we have to be the moral high horse with all these things. To be honest I wouldn't mind a couple of blokes brought in who are bordering on psychotic at this stage.
