I'm not too concerned about our key backs. For the most part tmac does a good job, he just needs to kick it less and get it out of his hands quicker.

I am slightly tho we are one collision away from McCartin spending a extended period on the sidelines leaving Melican and Hamling? as our KPD stocks.

Rampe is what 33? and is having soft tissue injuries.

You don't need big names to have an adequate defender. Just bring someone in with good size and athleticism. Defence is pretty much a team system now. I'll back our system in, just need bodies

Not sure it's too different to other years in some ways, we need a big KPD to play fullback, someone that shifts McCartin and Rampe down a peg and invest in the next generation.

Reliable but uninspiring depth we already have in Francis and Hamling, we need class

Long shot... but if it clicks for Edwards we could be laughing in a few years time wondering what this was all about.

This.

I am becoming convinced Edwards will be a decent defender. Improves week to week. Good mark, kick and is mobile. Continues to give LRT vibes.

Me being strangely satisfied with our draft/trade period, and waiting to unleash opinions when our defensive stocks have more exposed VFL form:

Holding Mel Gibson GIF

Might also be due a medium forward for the medium/long term, given Heeney's move to the midfield, along with Fox and Parker's age.

We'll undoubtedly add a mid as we always do. Cochran a KPP prospect (mainly KPD), which is nice to have from the Academy.

If Freo overpay for Logan, would take that and try pinch Jesse Hogan or JUH. We need someone to take control of the forward line and then everyone plays off the positioning of the main fwd. I doubt Logan or Amartey are doing that right now
JUH is going nowhere outside of VIC at this point. All reports indicate that if he doesn't re-sign, which on my understanding is very unlikely, then he will be staying in VIC. And Hogan is very happily ensconced within GWS. My sources indicate also that he's not going anywhere.

Edwards is developing nicely in the VFL but at this stage he is only a poor man's Esava Ratugolea. Has the same size and athleticism but fewer years of development in him. Worth hanging on to. Won't ever be Sam Taylor.

Yep. He is still a long way off but seems to really work at his game.

The Club is investing in him and encouraged his work with small runs in the pre season games. Agree he won’t be Sam Taylor, but who is?

I am maintaining glass half full.

First and foremost resign Logan don't care if it's overs just do it, on track for a 40 plus goal year and will only get better

As for defenders and what not, sure I'd like one but I'm not big on the key options in the draft at this stage

Can't see a top line defender leaving another club, pretty sure they are all contracted. Could we perhaps target Marchbank from Carlton? He might be an option something like that.
