Actually I reckon round 1 is a great time to get Geelong if we do have to Play them there.

Potentially an Adelaide team could spend the first month at home Round 1 home round 2 gather round in Adelaide round 3 away Showdown round 4 home.

Gather Round is the weekend of 4th to 7th April which is Round 4.

there is now a bye between the last round and finals which means it eliminates any last round travel disadvantage

And anyone thinks after months of football that it’s a good idea to have only 2 games of footy on the opening weekend should be sacked.

Not surprised they're putting Port up first since we had that spot this year. Would have preferred a bit more of an exciting opponent than Richmond though. Give us Carlton or Collingwood, even Brisbane.

Theoretically if they have us start the season on weekend of March 15-17 and excluding the Gather Round, we will be playing away Anzac weekend but we would be playing at home over Easter (who would have thought).

Get the feeling the first game will be on a rotation basis between the two clubs.

Mind you this round crowd wise is more 50/50 than normal as Collingwood has a good travelling crowd.
