Those who listen to SC pods, can you list your favourites? More interested in good analysis rather than good banter.

I've found a lot of the podcasters haven't really started up this year yet, but many of the youtubers are making content. Personally finding it hard to be motivated to jump into analysing a lot of stuff when most of it ultimately comes down to "depends what happens in R0" - thank you AFL :)

I enjoy your content and your last video regarding tips to become a better SuperCoach player was really helpful!

Any chance you could make a video explaining how to develop a strategy and plan for the year? That is one of the things I am struggling to fully understand.

Yeah fair enough. I wonder how many bad decisions we will make based on R0 games.

It's going to get busy in the week before round 1. I'm backing Jords to put out at least 4 video's that week!

I ones I normally watch are Jackson Davey, Jords at FTTV, and Supercoach Masters.

In terms on analysis and skill at the game I would rate them in that order. In terms of banter and general entertainment I would reverse the order. All are good though

Not across it as much tbh, but:

Fantasy Take TV (YouTube/Spotify)
Dr SuperCoach (Youtube/Spotify/Podcast)
SuperCoach with DR (YouTube only)

Seem to be consistently good and their communities used to go well.

But there are lots of others now, not a knock on any of those. FTTV fellas all do their own standalones, too (or used to). J Davey top tier on analytics/theory, but enobrien has to be my favourite now he has seen the light and flicked the Tigs and come across to the Pies.

Yeh agree. Top 2 are the best IMO.

Definitely the plan to go through what I think the strategy is for this year or at least go through the pros and cons of some of the popular ones. Hoping that having played fantasy for the last couple of years helps significantly this year but who knows.

What topics would you want to see covered? My plan was to at least cover:
  • bye flipping
  • how many early bye players is too many
  • how does fantasy work with trades / will SC be similar

if you've got anything else top of mind from a strategy perspective please hit me up

I am hearing from content creators it is going to be pretty chaotic after OR with the new data we will have to select players. The players you are considering may come or go out of your side due to their performance in OR

Focusing on and having a good understanding of your structures. Instead of selecting the players you like. Will help you make the best decisions when selecting players in your starting team.

  • Creating a plan A,B,C and D. Then choosing one of those plans or grab parts from each of those plans to create your structure and fit in the players you want.
  • How do you work in different price points to create structure plans.
  • What are the type of structure plans you use.
  • How to plan to trade in the players you have identified that you want in your team. Whist being flexible if say you have an injury, new DDPs come out or a player pops off/gets a new role. How do you shift those plans around and fit that player in at another point in the season.

Mid pricers

  • If I select a mid pricer at a certain price point, what is their purpose (cash gen/keeper/keeper bench player)
  • If I select a mid pricer at a price point, how many points do they need to average to become a good pick. Does that come down to if they can generate 150k? $200- ?? $300 - ?? $350-?? $400-??

For example at the moment I am looking at Windhager who I think will have a good season as an actual player. Without knowing what will make it a good pick in SuperCoach.

This is just an idea and not a request for If you are creating content in the future. I personally find things like the bye chart, difficultly of games chart ect. Really helpfully as a visual que to get a better understand the information being spoken about.

Players could also save and print these charts to help choose players when selecting teams.

These are things I am unsure on. I got into SuperCoach last year so maybe this content is already out there.

All great suggestions - I am considering taking time off work between R0 and R1, maybe that's a sign it's time to quit 😂

I feel you! One year in and already considering retiring due to how much of my time this game takes up.

Thanks for listening to my suggestions. Looking forward to seeing how you approach this season!

Apparently the sub rule is set to stay but clubs will be allowed to name their 23 and pick their sub on gameday. That will be a nightmare for supercoach and fantasy.

It's funny that clubs are having a sook about having to drop players then pick them as sub because it's degrading to the player when under a best 22 system system that player would have been dropped completely (most the time).

Anybody genuinely thinking about this idea of flicking blokes around the early byes like Angus Brayshaw > Daicos, or whatever the scenario was?

Seems a bit too much wishful thinking, interested to see if anyone is really planning on going down that path.

If you have the time go for it. Personally that’s getting too involved and I can’t be arsed to plan like that.

I just don’t reckon it is that easy to pull off and likelier to go awry.
But who knows?
