So if Carlton win the flag next season we are trading
2024 Pick 14 for
2025 pick 18 and 37 ish?
Tom barass for 3 2nd rounders and Harley Reid out the door with 4 first rounders next year.
I'm bored.
WC want Barrass gone, but Hawks will only pay a fair price.
WC will blink or get nothing
WC fans pretending like they are stoked to be going to the draft with 3, 26 and 63 whilst having one of the worst lists in the comp over the past 15-20 years is hilarious.WC want Barrass gone, but Hawks will only pay a fair price.

IMO the trade for Carlton's F1 + F2 is a prelude to another deal. What that deal is I'm not sure but there's no way in hell we're leaving Barrass out in the cold. It's not what we do.
now we offer our F1 and Carlton's F2 for barass and hang on to carlton's f1?
I think the media narrative is too quick to jump the gun on drama. It could easily be that West Coast have told Hawthorn roughly what they would accept for Barrass, and putting 14 up for trade is part of making that happen. Not just screwing West Coast or threatening to walk from the trade.
If it's 14 for Carlton F1 + F2, maybe the trade just becomes Barrass for a future first and a second instead of 14 and a future second.
Or like, F1 (Haw) + F1 (Carl) for Barrass and F2 (WCE).
Which would make the end result Barrass and Carlton's F2 for 14 and a slide from our F1 to WC's F2 (hopefully minor). Which lets West Coast justify the trade as giving them 3 first round picks next year, while being comparable or less valuable than 14 + F2 to Hawthorn. Plus, they could send a less valuable future first to Richmond instead of 14 for Baker.
It also sends a message to the rest of the comp that Hawthorn is not to be fooked with and we will not be bent over! They have so much more to lose.
They do not want Barrass on their list, if it means forgoing on Baker. They do have young players ready to play in Tom's spot, so screws their future planning a fair bit.
Their new coach wont complain about having an experienced back, but I feel it slows their rebuild a fair bit.
Love it - we are being proactive and telling Weagles to stop haggling over nothing.
Whats the fun in that.. We keep Blues pick so we can enjoy the 2025 blues dramss.Surely we just send both of Carltons picks to West Coast for Barrass? They get their 1st and 2nd for him and they just send Carltons F1 to Richmond for Baker. We still only pay Pick 14 and have a full suite if picks next year to play with.
Richmond will have enough picks this year that another 1st next year isn't the end if the world and the over/under on Carltons F1 vs pick 14 wouldn't be much.
