Oh god. Why come here and stir up trouble. Now we have pages full of garbage. Can we create an oppo thread and they can just go in there and do their very worst. Any defensive Saints supporters can go there and also do their worst. Leaves actual discussions in here.

I think we already have a place

Hi Saints fans, I come in peace I promise! Firstly a shame about Brad Crouch. Never fulfilled immense talent mainly due to injuries. Crows fans thought he was another Dangerfield when we first got him.

Why am I here? Value your quick thoughts on following

Having a discussion on Crows board re your likely targeting of elite players with your reported war chest. My view is Saints have drafted exceptionally well in recent years and now a handful of likely/probable elite young players like NWM and Philippou.

Some on Crows board thing you would be tempted to give up these 2 star youngsters and swap them to get Butters end of 2025 with a Power trade (someone even suggested, I assume in jest, you may need to also throw in a first round draft pick..)

My view is NO WAY would Saints do this deal giving up both especially with Butters a Restricted Free Agent end of 2026. So wait one more year, pay the big $$ (1.25-1.4m? which is huge money but he is a top 10 player in the league) and get him for free re trade collateral

Your views? Assuming you really wanted Butters - most clubs would - would you entertain releasing these 2 too 10 ish type draft picks that are on the way to stardom for Butters end of 2025? Or wait one more year and see (with a risk of not getting Butters then) and try end of 2026?

I could imagine you releasing ONE of them for Butters perhaps with some draft picks chucked in but certainly not both.

Thanks for your time and any thoughts. Good luck for next year and see you in round one, cheers

PS re NWM, one Saints poster recently was quoted saying he wasn’t confident he would stay with Saints past 2025. My view is he will likely cost any team acquiring (eg Crows or Power) 2 x first rounders with perhaps a second coming back. He is going to be a real star that lad
No way

Phillipou looks like he's projecting to be even better than Butters within the next 2 years. I'd find it hard to entertain a straight swap between them, let alone adding in Nas who looks like he'll be the best half back in the comp soon

We also have Garcia who is training the house down (genuinely...not just from a biased nuff's perspective) and would play a similar role to what Butters would in our midfield so its not like we are overly desperate to get him to the point we'd be giving up crucial cogs of our future

I think we'll target him for either RFA or for something like 2x FRDP + more, but certainly not for Pou or Nas

We will offer Pou and Nas so much money that you'll only be able to afford SANFL players to fill out the rest of your list if they went to the Crows.

I’d argue that’s already happening with the likes of McHenry & Murphy lol

Butters. Great player. Absolute flog. Wouldn't give one of Nas or Pou for him.

Yep, you can tell your board that the chances of Pou moving back to Adelaide are as remote as us letting him go. Once you've been to Paris, you can never go back to the farm, as they say. That young bloke absolutely loves the club and may very well be captain one day. Nas might be possible but very unlikely imo and as you said very expensive. He's one our MVPs already.

We have quite a few SA kids at the club now but I think they're all very happy at St Kilda. We rarely have guys wanting out.

Harry Boyd - 198cm 108 kg's

Shane Mumford - 198 cm 105 kgs

People making lots of comments about his lack of spring. New ruck rules introduced last year allowing straight arm blocks specifically introduced to allow bigger less mobile rucks to still be able to play the game.

Can see Harry doing a lot of this

For what its worth - O'Brien won this contest and gave a Matt Crouch an uncontested clearance.

Crows board seem to think we're a feeder club for them. Some believe that Phillipou, NWM, Keeler and Dodson are all owed to them because they were born in SA.

Hopefully they all have long careers with us.
We've all got our own delusions. Sounds like theirs is the idea that players want to return to Adelaide.
