What do you think about Jack Ough just in case he becomes a bit of a slider? I think that it is unlikely but given past drafts there always seems to be at least 1 or 2 players who do slide, if not more. OK. Goodnight & good luck.

It always feels like drafting discussion is aimed at past holes rather than the only holes that can be filled - future roles.

You see the same with Melbourne and tall forwards and how it should be priority number 1. But everything is a need for the Dees. Brayshaw is already gone. Gawn is old. May is old. Viney isn't likely to be able to crash in the way he does for ever. Big clouds around Clarry and Tracs future at the Dees. And there's talk of Kosi wanting back to WA every year. Any gun they draft this year might not play much footy at all with their current stars.
Therein lies the rub of so many of the preferred targets on our board. Even if by some miracle the speculative KPP that we’ve never had luck with in the past kicks on and does something the earliest we’re likely to bear fruit from that decision is 2028. A draft haul of say Bice, Davidson and Brew would be roundly panned on here, but is infinitely more likely to impact within the next 2 years and probably beyond. Look at what Geelong were able to get from Mannagh and Humphries it almost drove them to a premiership v what they got from O’Sullivan who is highly likely to be better than anyone we speculate on in the 40’s or 50’s of this draft.

The other interesting thing is strong preference for either a tall forward rather than a tall defender or vice versa - meanwhile all of our recent talls were playing the opposite end of the ground at 18. McStay and Checkers were defenders. Moore, Howe, Murphy, Frampton and Dean were forwards at 18.

Charlie West looks like someone that could play forward or back. I'd be hoping for him.
