Reid is an exception. Would be 1 in every draft
The 2-5 in this draft is no worse than 2-5 of last year
Out of those names, I'm only interested in Allen for us, and that has to be contrasted with Smillie & Hotton's abilities to accumulate inside and outside respectively.Agree. 12 and 14 was only just under ideal position. If were in the 6-10 range with two picks it wouldve been amazing to get Travaglia and Reid/Allen.
Suspect Richmond would be more interested in pick 38 than Brisbane's future 2nd. Whether that's enough though is the question.Upgrading from 12 and 14 to 6 and 11 with only an extra F2nd and time would be a master stroke.
Don’t think Draper is going top 2
Agree with this. We absolutely need to nail this pick and I think there are busts in the top end of this draft like every draft.Yeah this "we can't lose" at pick 3 statement that's going around is a bit of a myth. We absolutely can lose and it's a decent possibility. Just hard to tell which is the winner vs the loser at this point. That's why Austin gets paid the big bucks.
In a few years we'll be laughing at these posts struggling to split Draper, Smith, O'Sullivan Langford when xx is a multi-time All Australian and yy is a whipping boy. Hopefully we get xx.
Lalor lolwhich one do you choose if draper is gone
Perhaps the scenario is that Richmond don't take Lalor at 1 and then try to buy back in at 3.Suspect Richmond would be more interested in pick 38 than Brisbane's future 2nd. Whether that's enough though is the question.
If Lalor is there at 3 we'd take him, he's the perfect fit for us.Perhaps the scenario is that Richmond don't take Lalor at 1 and then try to buy back in at 3.
Starting to get a feeling that in a few years we will look back and might regret not taking Langford with our pick with all the qualities he brings.I feel a player that can play half forward / midfield is the best suited for us currently.
Lalor, Langford and O’Sullivan seem to be the standouts here.
However, as I always say, picking top 30 should always be ‘best available’, no matter list requirements.
This year we might be extremely lucky and have the best available also be the best suited.
Over to the recruiting team but IMO, Langford is still the standout for me. I could be wrong but time will tell.
Just don’t f@#$ it up Austin, we have invested a bit!
Yer but if 6 & 11 are on the table at that point we'd have a thinkIf Lalor is there at 3 we'd take him, he's the perfect fit for us.
Only for the last 100 pages or so.Hang on. People are guessing?
Tigers aren’t offering that for pick 2 so it won’t be on the tableYer but if 6 & 11 are on the table at that point we'd have a think
Indeed we do.Agree with this. We absolutely need to nail this pick and I think there are busts in the top end of this draft like every draft.
Trading down to say #6 only works if Richmond is keen on a particular player and see value in trading up to 3.
They are virtually in full rebuild mode - and therefore are as likely, if not more than us, to be interested and open to several players such as FOS, Smith, Draper or Langford and happy to choose whoever is available at pick 6.
80% of the game they aren't touching the ball. The videos I like are those that show every time the player touches the ball during a game, clangers and all.
There are heaps of those videos available for all the players mentioned in this thread.
Not just highlights.
I don't think your logic holds up.The likelihood of Austin drafting exactly the two players you want at 6 and 11 is low. Might as well just use 3.
