I'm a little bit heat of the moment right now mate. I have a lot going on. I will bounce back in a couple of days. Just a game blah blah.

It’s a Carlton thing.

We’re famous & things happen to our magnificent club

We ain’t boring.

Everyone knows us.

First half was a war crime.

Second half was make it uppsies to make it look even.

Both manufactured and bullshit.
This the entire football world know, yet I know we'll hear every commentator in the media saying umpires aren't to blame etc. Can't critisize them etc.
Well yes, Kemp missed a shot up one end, and we let one through the other not long after. We could have won but those were 2 glaring errors.
BUT, these overpaid peanuts in the media are only too happy to talk about momentum of a game, and how much it has an impact.
SO, why is it not a factor when they pay morale sapping frees against us for bullshit calls. That Cripps one is just absolutely wrong and that umpire is a disgrace. He couldn't possibly see it, the St. Kilda players back had totally blocked his view, and the ball was disposed of correctly, yet he paid a blind free. He could have just balled it up again if he was unsure, but no, he clearly had a guess. Should not umpire another game.

I wasn't keeping count, but it was a few.

Whilst we got a lot in the 4th that weren't near goal, they were often against the flow of play allowing us to prevent a score on turnover where St Kilda were torching us.

Exactly. So a faux "even" free kick count means nothing. There's no doubt the umps had a massive influence on the result today...

How many times we start to build momentum only for bs ump decisions to kill it?

We did really well to put ourselves in a winning position despite the corruption.

They're not the only reason we lost, but they were a big contributor.

The other big contributor was the injury list...

All the people saying we played hard, were unlucky, great effort will all the players out.... yeah that's all true.

But don't lose sight of the fact yet another wasted season is 100% on us. Some of the worst effort you will see in the month and a half starting with the GWS game from a supposed contender, mentally weak doesn't even begin to describe it. Injuries finished us off but should never have been in this position to begin with.

I'm not 100% upset about this, there's still something rotten at the club and missing finals might be the catalyst for change.

We simply can't continue to have such a deep injury list, season on season; play the same injured players; and not react in game.

This is partially on Voss, part on the MC, the fitness team, the list management and on the executive for letting it happen 3 seasons in a row.
you've lined up the ducks perfectly 👏 👏

I can see it with Ollie now, a sold past few games. Now to hit the gym!
His talent is definitely starting to shine. Was good in the tackles today. Stuck 5 tackles today and was able to move nicely through some traffic.

Too much Hollywood for me. Takes too long to dispose and his mistakes are generally material.
Love him to death (have a bias) but agree with this.

Needs to KISS and trust in his instincts more.

The tale of this season is on whether we learn the lessons of what went wrong. There was a variety of factors (injury, game plan, list management) which came together in a perfect storm to destroy us.

That’s on us. And believe it or not, it’s ok. But only if we learn what went wrong and take proactive steps to fix it.

My main takes out of today:

  • the umpiring was disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. The umpiring over the season has been disgusting. It was our turn to cop the rough end of the pineapple today. But it doesn’t make it any easier to handle.
  • Moir, Lord, and Binns all look like players. That’s a wing, a third forward, and a faster midfielder sorted out. Three weeks ago most of us would have had all three of those positions as holes on our list.

On to the draft. On to figuring out how to get better strategically. And on to sorting out our high performance area.

Mentally inept

How many losses like these do they want

This just kills you as a group

Have to ****ing grow up some time
What are you talking about? You mean how many times do we have to play with half our team. I can think of three games melb 22 pies 22 and today that really hurt but can think of a shitload more where we got the win...yes it hurts but there are 18 teams and inly one can win it. Our time will come.

I've said it for two years straight over the pre season come up with a method for kick ins and defending kick outs we have been poor at both for long time ..
Get rid of any player who you can't pencil in for 20 matches ..
lord was impressive - I hope only reason moir didn't come on earlier was they were worried about in game injury as it was obvious early we weren't getting enough out of all the entries we were having ..

Sounds like we're in furious agreement

I thought we had done it when he had the shot. Can't lose from here .... bit we did.
Most of us were elated & then let down, but Higgins  Could Young touch that ball?
