yeah he can blame our defence overall but with the outs we've got they cant expect miracles.

However an area where we could improve is in how we attack - need to become a lot better - Cats showed us up big time - we put the effort and got little return and they played smarter and got better returns.

Teams know our weakness is in how we attack.

They get numbers around charlie and slingshot it away from the d50.

This puts enormous pressure on our defenders with the oppo coming in really quickly with half of our team out of position

Our defence never gets a rest.

Too many times tonight we'd get it forward and by showing no poise or patience it's a quick turn over and defence chasing tail under extreme pressure.

Charlie is often guilty of this, tries to rush everything and not slow down a play when it needs it.

Throw McGovern and Saad back in defence, cerra in they middle, Martin and motlop in the forward line and there is no way we are losing that.

Our defence is sorely missing Saad and McGovern, we've lost pressure, intercept and rebound. We lose the ability to force opposition defence to spread without the nous of Martin and motlop is our only genuine small forward who snap goals

Isn’t it fair to say that with Motlop, Cerra, Fogarty, MCG, Marchy, Cuners, Fantasia, Saad, Martin all unavailable (wouldn’t all be picked) it means we have to play guys who are unreliable (Carroll, Kemp, Durdin, Young, Cowan) and against a group of good sides the unreliable players will underperform often enough for us to not win them all?

Against the best 6-8 sides with these injuries forcing these players to play it is to be expected we lose about half.

I expect the win loss to continue through the next few.

Injuries are making or breaking the whole season.
This. Losing Cerra, Saad and McGovern with hamstings a couple of weeks ago was the tipping point for injuries. Injuries will probably end up costing us Top 4 and a legitimate chance for the Premiership.... Meanwhile Geelong with their creaky old list and their 1-2 injuries are marching towards a top of the ladder finish and God forbid another Premiership !

Those players playing will help us in the long run.

I want chuck to learn to settle down and use his 30 seconds when he takes a mark

Needs to develop a set routine and apply it - time he got more professional around this aspect.

Bestie and I kept saying this. We had more time than we thought up forward but perceived pressure made us rush.

Just watched the Voss presser and he ain’t happy!
We obviously had enough looks but in the end couldn’t capitalise enough.
Cats caught us out the back way too many times!
IMO we still require more speed around the ball. They flicked it out of stoppage numerous times and got us on the outside.
Might obviously help when we start getting some players back like cez/cuners ect which will give us a better dynamic

our biggest problem is injury prones - martin cunners and marchy in particular - i dont know how much they're on and how much trade capital they have but i reckon we'd be better off culling all three asap.

it also means if he messes it up it catches our players off guard because the oppo tend to rebound off quickly

if charlie settled it gives our players time to catch their breath and get back into position

100% Geelong won't win the flag

Mighty effort today red hot go up against not only a seriously good experienced well drilled big bodied side at virtual full strength.
But also up against ourselves incompetent kicking at goal and decision making at times .
I'm convinced if this club could just for one year just one have a decent run with injury would rip the competition a new one .

How weird does it feel being genuinely mad that we feel we should be winning basically every game now? Not long ago we were seething for every opposite reason.

Very proud of how far we have come as a club.

We are lead by a brilliant skipper, coach and we are FINALLY starting to be the Carlton Football Club this competition once feared.
