I’ve been wondering this for a week. Why does everyone want GC’s pick 13 when Saints pick 8, Freos pick 11 and Essondons pick 9 were clearly on the table. Add in Hawthorns pick 14 and it just doesn’t make sense that 6 sides have apparently been fighting over GC’s pick.
Because GCS generally throw away draft picks for little value as they have so many picks to throw away.

Except when trading with us! 🤦‍♂️

Saints pick (not sure... assume they using both or to move up very high - not trading back?)
Freo (are both going to Richmond for bolton)
Hawks (everyone assumed it was locked I'm for barrass)
Essendon (only traded it to melb as they told them they would bid on their NGA making it worthless pick)
Suns (always getting traded due to NGA bid early)

Mostly as GC need points so easier to put a deal forward that appeals than a trade based on just draft position

We moved up 3 picks (11 to 8)... that's not a huge move.

Melbourne are going to trade their F1 + F2 for pick 9 tomorrow. That's a ballsy move. It's risky. But they're landing a top 10 pick in a very good draft.
We could have on traded that Curtin pick back to eagles for their F1 (which is pick 3 this year)... Curtin vs pick 3 this year will be a big turning point.

I make that 7 & 25 in 2035 for Pick 9 in 2024. If any team is falling off a cliff next year it's Melbourne

Because they all think GC are push overs and can get it for "unders"

Makes you wonder how legit Gold Coast supporters feel

Richmunt drop in and pry Lynch and Prestia off of them .. go on and win a series of premierships

Tell them to fix their culture if they want to hang onto players

And now the Richmunt list is cooked and about to fall off of a cliff and they turn up banging on the door literally demanding picks for players they are literally pushing out the so that they can turbo charge their rebuild

It's seriously absurd

Port must be getting nervous.

With all their ‘big’ recruits over the last few years, there can’t be much room in their salary cap.

I think they needed to move Houston and Soldo to free up cap space for Lukoscious.

If Carlton or Collingwood hold out they might get Houston for a salary dump.
I bet they get it all done.

Houston is a fantastic player - they will get a good return - not enough to move into the top 3 picks, but they will get some good picks.

Luko will be at Paer. You do not offer that contract and not get it done. Will be a future first. I think he will be fine with them, they have the mids - they need different players.

I do not think pOwEr are better after losing Houston and gaining Luko and a first round draft pick.

So we are only taking one pick into this years draft after trading 46 for melbournes future 3rd ??

The big trades, Barass/Luko/Houston being held off to this week to stretch out trade period interest.

No doubt all trades already agreed to and sorted. Just not announced to give the media time to generate click bait discussion.

It is a Theatre League, everything outside of the actual games is stage managed.

So GWS must want a future second and third

That’s the way it’s looking it was also stated on trade radio we are only using one pick into this years draft does that mean Welsh rookied not sure

If we're only using one pick them we have to upgrade a minimum of two rookies

The AFL love the additional off-season coverage at a time when the NRL is absolutely quiet
