Haven't heard of him before, no idea if this is a good appointment or not. At least he has come from a successful club which is a good thing. Happy to give him the benefit of doubt for now.
He has recently been in charge of Brisbanes forward group, and in that time Lohman and Ah Chee have come on in leaps and bounds. Maybe we’re thinking of Rachelle and Pedlars development.

Article anyone?

Here is a snippet:
The arrival of Davis comes as the Crows try to lure experienced administrator Graham Wright to oversee its football department, in another attempt to strengthen the resources around Nicks after the club’s seventh consecutive season without finals.

Wright reportedly has interest from the AFL and Carlton.

Meanwhile, retired Crows champion Rory Sloane is still considering whether to join Melbourne in a coaching role.

The Demons approached Sloane, who hung up the boots in April after medical advice about the potential impact on his eyesight.

Sloane played 255 games for the Crows over 16 seasons and captained the club from 2019-2022.

CROWS PREPARE TO LAUNCH BID FOR LIST GURU

Adelaide is targeting highly-regarded administrator Graham Wright for a “godfather” role overseeing its football department.

Wright quit as Collingwood’s footy boss in August after taking an overseas sabbatical this season.

He helped to mastermind the Magpies’ 2023 premiership and also had success at Hawthorn, where he was recruiting and list manager during its hat-trick of flags from 2013-15, then head of football from 2018-20.

Crows chief executive Tim Silvers worked with Wright at the Hawks for a decade and caught up recently trying to convince him to come to West Lakes in a full-time position.

Adelaide wants to provide more support to senior coach Matthew Nicks on the back of a disappointing campaign.

It's like trying to provide more support to mark neeld. Our board is full of ****wits.

His CV doesn’t scream “coaching director” to me. He’s been at one club forever, and never a senior coach.
Hopefully he works out better than the last staff member we poached from Brisbane.

He’s the coaching director, a step above our coach. Take off your clappers, you can’t seriously say that you’re not underwhelmed with appointing a coaching director to oversee our coaches who hasn’t coached an AFL team.

If that’s not a slap in the face to Nicks I don’t know what is.

Now if they’ve got it wrong in the tweet and he’s a senior assistant that’s at least acceptable, it’s just a slap in the face to Burns.

I agree

I'm done trying to polish up turds by trying to feign excitement over mediocre player/coaching appointments.

Sadly I think the inability to attract anyone with any credibility speaks volumes about how we're viewed in the footy industry.

This feels very much like when Port rolled out Brad Gotch because that's all they could get.

He's had the best part of 2 decades as a coach including the NT Thunder, I mean we all know the story of Chris Fagan don't we ??

I wouldn't say I'm a happy clapper, but I'm not willing to jump of the edge like you seem to be.

The guy obviously comes from a pretty good coaching system and has loads of experience in the AFL industry.

I think we all need to pause and wait for the club announcement

The club is looking at various roles - media could be right that he’s heading to the crows but off the mark in terms of actual role

Will not change until a particular person is no longer involved with the club.

Premiership forward line coach is a turd?

Wow

This board love reacting without all the information

Outsider.
A bit left field, but straight from a successful club.
It's a win.
Let's give him a chance
I'm happy to give him a chance, cos I've never heard of the guy.

Anyway, of those 4 sentences above, I'd qualify for 3 so you'd think I should have been in with a shot too, and the board would have been just as happy.
