If we view 2x F3 + F4 as being roughly equivalent to a F2 in terms of pick values (which is what we will likely use them for), then we have essentially retained our entire 2025 pick haul, while bringing in three new quality players, and keeping pick 4 untouched.

Now we just need to hope the Welsh bid comes in late and we've done very well.
According to Reid, we haven't decided if we want him as FS yet. ;)

I guess we don't want to be too committed in case an early bid comes in and we decide we'd rather wait.

I guess there is also the possibility that we orchestrate a pick trade to get back into the draft and just avoid taking him altogether.

Sounded like Strachan has been given an ultimatum to go away and work on his fitness too.
It's a joke he can't run out a full AFL game after all this time on our list.

Did you listen intently when Tyler Welsh's name was put to him?

Sounded like it's not an absolute done deal?
Maybe we are waiting to see what we get offered for pick 4. If we get a deal too good to refuse we and end up with 2 good first round picks we will take it and let Welsh go?

It's crazy that we have put ourselves in this position with no room to move on draft night. We have a highly valuable draft pick and no option to do anything with it this year.

Not that I want us to, my strong preference is to use pick 4, but we still should have given ourselves an option if a crazy deal was offered to us.

There is a common feeling across clubland that Tyler Welsh has a very poor attitude and work ethic. This is info ive just been told by someone in player management. And it makes complete sense given his poor testing and body composition. I’m leaning toward us not taking him. Maybe as a speculative rookie. What a fall from grace.

Rookie spot seems ideal.

Getting Jarman Edwards vibes.

Fox Sports will give us a C.

But anyone who has a single clue knows this is an A trade period.

Any other position is not defendable and speaks to your own inability to ever be satisfied.

Or just thinks every trade period should play out like its on a Playstation game

Edit: Reading some comments about ruck depth...seriously that's where people think our season hinges on? Wowee

What a coincidence

Don't tell 119others he won't have it, he's still going down that "tanking"road.

Well there is.

Pay out a contract, shift a F1 into this draft and match a late bid for Welsh.

No need for 43
Huh? There’s talk Welsh could slip to the rookie draft given that’s how he’s rated. But there would clearly be good players available at 43 who will be in demand more than Welsh, why wouldn’t we choose a better player if we still had that pick?

Its a very solid trade period, but outside pick 4, we have nothing in a supposed super draft when we are desperate for elite mids and still haven't addressed anything long term RE our rucks.

We are OVER stocked for half backs (Smith :$ , Cumming, Hinge, Michelanney, Milera, Jones etc) and mid/forward hybrids (Rankine, Rachelle, Peatling, ANB, Keays, Murphy, Pedlar etc) now.

Pick 4 now becomes absolutely massive to this offseason and what we do with it/select.
