There goes my Sunday morning routine. It and front bar were the only 2 shows I watched. I'll give him a go, but can't see him being any good among that group. He might be ok on footy classified if his insights are valuable, but can't see it with Sunday mornings.

Yeah I'm not sure he's the guy for Sunday mornings, Kane worked because his opinions opened him up to ridicule, which to his credit he takes extremely well.

Sloane is a totally different bloke. Who knows, we might see a different side of him... but he's not the guy i would have picked.

But let’s look at this topic, I posted some info, some appreciated it, some criticised it. I within my rights have responded to the criticism.

By no means is she alone in that regard mind you, not at all.

Well your sentence is correct. And therein lies the root of the issue. We KNOW others make mistakes but we don't give them the same scrutiny. In fact if you listen to commentary you will notice many of them get names incorrect and often.

She isn't a great commentator because her voice isn't conducive to adding to the biggest moments.

But she is perfectly fine amongst the pack.

There is little point debating it because biases are incredibly hard to shake but I would challenge you to listen to all commentators with the same scrutiny.

Poor Deni Varnhagen , Kelli called her Van Hargen for year after year and once Van Halen and still couldn’t get it right. Reject stamp and next applicant please. The sheep test should be applied to those who blindly flog a dead horse
pushing people to accept mediocrity for whatever reason they feel is right when the obvious is right in front of their faces
She is just bad at it.

It is unlistenable when she is commentating .

Just because West Coast and Richmond are also shit it doesn't mean North Melbourne are all of a sudden ok. Brian Taylor is also constantly derided by fans and rightly so.

The thing is, just because theyre bad, it doesnt make her good. Shes not, shes awful.

I rate her highly, except when calling play by play. You can’t ignore the pitch of a person’s voice when judging them as a commentator that calls the play. Roo has an awful voice too, but thankfully he’s limited to special comments. His content is fine IMO but I’d have a big problem with him calling play by play.
