Awful commentator, but I do enjoy when she is on Foxtels Back Page TV program.

Well your sentence is correct. And therein lies the root of the issue. We KNOW others make mistakes but we don't give them the same scrutiny. In fact if you listen to commentary you will notice many of them get names incorrect and often.

She isn't a great commentator because her voice isn't conducive to adding to the biggest moments.

But she is perfectly fine amongst the pack.

There is little point debating it because biases are incredibly hard to shake but I would challenge you to listen to all commentators with the same scrutiny.

Have you not seen how much rubbish gets thrown at Dwayne, BT, Jobe, Kane etc, she’s not alone in copping criticism.

Have you seen the Channel 7 promos for this years footy shows? They are trying too hard. The Agenda Setters? Kane's Call? No thanks. I think a lot of people were getting tired of Cornes. I was. He's become a caricature of himself. Someone signs a long term deal "uh-oh, here comes Kane to talk about how outrageous this is again" (without any analysis or understanding that with a salary cap in play, contract length is one of the few levers managers can pull to extract value for their clients from the club).

Just because West Coast and Richmond are also shit it doesn't mean North Melbourne are all of a sudden ok. Brian Taylor is also constantly derided by fans and rightly so.

I remember listening to Kane very early days (still playing) and thinking he was awesome. Sloane on AA or TV interview has never said anything I’ve thought interesting, intelligent or not bleedingly obvious. Of our recent/current players, Tex is good, but his voice makes it a bit hard, Smith/Ned good,Laird so-so, Dmac was brilliant, Betts fun and can’t think of too many others I heard more than once or twice. JJ pretty good.

Isn’t the point that numerous commentators get picked on mercilessly, so drawing an anti-female agenda because she’s a woman might be a little simplistic. I can’t stand her doing play by play purely because of her voice, but I’d say the same if they gave Roo a shot at it. Come to think of it, I can’t stand JB either, there’s a smugness to his voice. Which I could handle if there wasn’t so much of it during a broadcast.

Not a lot between 5th and 15th and then there's the usual doubts over Dogs and Cats and potential for Hawks young group to not back it up.

I reckon there is potential for someone in the media to be a unique voice with a more positive outlook, optimistic etc

The media have collectively gone the other way. Everything's a scandal, shock jock, controversy, be first, be loud, criticise, sack the coach, suspend the player etc

Means that Positive Rory will always be on the other side of the argument. The lone optimistic voice on any issue while everyone else piles on. Which would endear him to the supporters of whatever club is the punching bag that week.

I think he'd be better off being true to himself and going down this path than by trying to fake an outspoken, opiniated persona.

Tony Grieg/Bill Lawry formed a partnership based largely upon taking opposite sides of every issue. It's a tried and true media formula.

You’re only bored shitless if you make the voluntary choice to read. The question you should ask is why do you choose to?

For example I find social media posts of the boys quite boring, I couldn’t care if Neddy caught a fishy, so I choose not to read them, it’s pretty easy.
