What utter crap.

Murray, Fogarty, Keays, Soligo, Nank, Crouch, Bond, etc put their head over the ball, go hard and never take a backward step
Murray’s an absolute animal that hates losing

Keays prob has one of the highest work rates in comp

Matt crouch is a bit of an animal too , even how he was ruled out for season and got back was sheer determination which he shows in a contest too

Soligo is courageous, Bond could be the most courageous of all

lol and your post sounds like one massive deluded clapper excuse.

A) we didn’t improve we went backwards
B) we have a lot of young players, so, why would that be attractive to a recruit? How many of them gun mids?
C) we had a disappointing year due to injuries and losing close games? Losing close games means you’ve lost, how is that a positive consideration? As for injuries, we lost to Richmond. So no mention of shit coaching?
D) Nicks. Players and managers would know another shit start to the year and he could be gone, does that environment sound attractive?
E) last year we were on the up and attracted Burgess, this year we’ve gone backwards.

We have had Burgess since the start of 2022.

We won a couple of games by less (Carlton and Essendon) than a kick and lost a few (Gold Coast, Essendon, Collingwood and Geelong). Sadly, we could have lost those games we won given it was more of a case of Carlton and Essendon stuffing up in the last two minutes.

You negative nancy...what about the positives
1. Our club colours are pretty nice
2. It sounds good running out to the ground with we are warriors before the game
3. The players will get to see most of regional Australia next year when the draw is made
4. The staff at crowmania are friendly and polite...and helpful too

So can we dispense with the doom and gloom and get behind all the things that make us a successful club!!!

Not sure Matt has quite the hunger for contested ball that he used to have. He’s basically as effective as Laird is in a midfield role. Lots of second possessions and lack of impacting oppo influence. We win or break even in the stats, but we lose the battle, week in and week out. Neither has value in a winning midfield group.

I will be fuming if we haven’t worked on our finishes in close games for next year

At the moment it just looks like sheer luck when we win one and lots of heart , there’s no game scenario strategy apparent

And our leaders or players in general outside of Dawson ( and Rankine ) seem to struggle when there is pressure late in games and don’t stay composed

If we can’t improve that in off season we won’t deserve to be a chance to play finals

I reckon Matt is a beast in contest still , fight to death style

He was one of only ones that directed his anger at the footy after Rankine hit the other week ( Dawson lifted too ) , the others failed and were tougher off ball than at it

Bullshit!!

Well it took a bit of brilliance from both Berry and Rachele to win both those games - it wasn’t structure at all.

Now consider our close losses to Collingwood and Geelong - both won by structure and leading forwards.

You need to add Murphy

I thought every one said at the start of the year we got our dream draw because of the Sydney thing?

Home games
Cats , Demons, Bombers , Power, Lions, Eagles, Tigers , Swans, Giants, Saints , Hawks, Dogs

Away
GC, Dockers, Blues, Kangas, Pies, Hawks, Lions , Bombers, Cats, Swans

Double ups
Cats, Hawks, Lions, Power, Swans, Bombers

Swans and Lions only teams from 23 top 8 with Power as an obligatory double up . Swans scraped into 8th and those 3 should have been split wins along with Cats. Bombers and Hawks should have been 2-0 wins

It wasnt that hard a draw
No it looked like a good draw based on where teams finished last year. Reality is every year there are teams on the up and on their way down. Post minor round, it now shows it was pretty rough.

This sounds like a bit of a tall story. You personally know of multiple supporters who love ringing with made up rumours. Add to those that you don't know and we'd be getting multiple rumours every week. But we don't get even one rumour every week. No need to make things up to win an internet point.
It’s fact. I’m not saying they each ring every week. But they love to ring and shit stir.
Listen carefully and it becomes pretty obvious.

Cumming has maybe 3 seasons left of footy and only played in 5 finals. He could either join us or Port. If all other options are equal, and you had no allegiance to either, you would pick Port. They are a Monty to play finals most of the next 3 years esp with their stars all having at least 5 years left in them.

There’s no guarantee we make finals in the next 3 years and today would look further away than we did 12 months ago.
3 seasons? He turned 26 last month, could still have 8 years if he is lucky.

But how old is his body in AFL footy years?

Recurring soft tissue injuries especially quads and multiple hamstrings at 25 has to be a concern?
giants have poor medical set up and its only 1 year, ok in others

if he passes medical I wouldn't be worried
we need good experienced players and he has nice traits

High level staff would all be on fixed term contracts, Burgess no different. Whoever you're responding to has it wrong.
An employer can’t “hold” an employee to a fixed-term contract, that isn’t how any employment relationship works, whether in football or any other context.

3 hamstrings isn't it in one season you might not worry about but some would including me.

these others go hard agree but I think there's a difference where the other three look physically sick when they lose. you watch. youre talking about something completely different

Nope, you're just plain wrong

That's a great analysis, fwiw. Very useful.
Thanks. Apart from showing that we sucked independently of our fixture, it also shows that the “our fixture only looked hard because they got to play us twice” line of argument is baseless.

We still had 4 of the top 5 and 5 of the top 7.

Essendon dropped from 11th to 12th which is not a material difference.
