Nicks actually referred to non-linear growth in 2023 ....as has been stated, you can't lose key players down your spine, your best running HB, and your best player for 7 matches ....and still duke it out with 4 x first year rookies & another group with less than 30 games experience

It's naive to believe otherwise
Yes I know - that’s what I was referring to. Chatting to and then emailing Silvers last year (and cc’g Nicks, Reid etc) the message sent said we need to get better and bring in more elite talent - esp midfield along with letting Sloane go and keeping Crouch etc - and mentioned you can’t just assume we will have linear progression in 2024. Now I am sure it was coincidental but Nicks used the same words within a week at his next presser talking about our prospects for this year. Anyway, the above sounds a bit wanky and who really cares if he did or didn’t copy the words. The facts are Nicks needs to get us into the top 8 next year to survive. That’s possibly 14+ wins and I think it’s doable with less injuries, organic growth, 2-3 inbound players replacing weak links in the team and a much easier draw.

I don’t think Nicks is a great coach but do think he will make finals next year.

He's not going back to Victoria. His family is settled here in Henley Beach.
Chris Davies I’m pretty sure is born and bread SA, played junior cricket at Southern Districts before crossing to Adelaide and played a heap of under age cricket for SA.

Unless he was born in VIC and lived here when he was very young

Well, he bloody better or he'll be a sacked coach.

As was Jack Oatey
Excellent knowledge Sir.

May I politely ask if you are relatively Senior in age to know about Oateys methods? Let’s say 60ish with a detailed historical background in SANFL from either a personal passion or indeed perhaps a professional position even?

Lets be honest here, if you know about Jack Oatey's methods not only suggests he is 60+ but also its likely he did not stumble across Bigfooty for the first time in his life in 2024. Meaning he probably already has or has had an account on BF.

You certainly have good knowledge so credit where it’s due. Never had an account “here” - on BF do you mean? Or just on the crows forum previously? Personally after 20 ish years I must say it’s quite “exceptional” to have posted almost 300 times in one full day of posting. You must have a lot of “pent up” things to say or express perhaps and it’s probably a good time between the lull of a Poort WIN and their upcoming LOSS

Ever worked in journalism old mate?

On the crows vs hawks draws - With the same draw as them (i.e. 9 vs bottom 6 sides etc). On our winning % vs that part of the ladder it would give us an additional 1 win... still not enough to worry about

And was so wildly successful that his next gig was at the Adelaide Giants. And his consultancy is going such gangbusters that he's taking a full time role at our club.
Well you can take it up with Burgo, he seems to rate what he's done.

Nope, never had a Bigfooty account, your infatuation with me is quite strange.

The biomechanics specialist is interesting. Maybe bring a different perspective to our high performance team

It is interesting, we know that it's not Burton running this anymore, it's the very highly respected Burgess, so we should have some confidence. That said, the sceptic in me wonders how this guy has been amazing all these years and we seem to be the first AFL club to realise. Also his website doesn't seem to identify many of the elite level participants that he's been involved with, normally you trip over these every other page on their websites.

Bloke called Blight had a fair say in that

I don't think it's uncommon with a certain group that Neil Craig is seen as more infuential in our premierships than the coach that came in and cleaned the place out. The lessons we learned from Blight's success have been totally shelved in favour of the philosophies of Neil Craig. You can bet that if talking about the flags with Trigg, Jen would have heard how it all came down to Neil.

Clearly. His agent has said openly that he hasn't made up his mind yet, and he is waiting until Port are out of finals to have have another round of meetings with Adelaide and Port. This is code for upping the offers.
Code for doing due diligence.

Our offer is very generous, so doubt we will be increasing it further.

So actually we played the top 5 twice this year not even just the top 4

Wow thats really ****ed
