My goodness. The thought that some people are genuinely excited to try and “recruit” Nick Hind

What a time to be alive.

Garry is way too invested in all this. Unable to talk about it sensibly.
There isn't really any incentive for him to be impartial.

I can't exactly see the Foxtel and SEN management onboarding all these former players by enforcing the importance of professional balance.

I reckon if anything they're encouraged to lean into their personal prejudices and loyalties as theatre.

He was servicable. Compared to pink and teakle he is ablett.

We need some older warriors to take a beating while the young talls come through.....if we draft young talls
Josh was much better in defence compared to Pink, but both pink and teakle are better forward options; Walker was a duffer forward

If Petracca is forced to stay we should definitely be speaking to Clayton Oliver. He will feel naturally ostracised by the reports that his situation is a big reason Petracca wants out. He’s a close friend of Jy’s. We should be able to buy reasonably low.

This is really interesting.

The back half of Oliver's contract will make Polec's previous deal look like an absolute steal.

Agreed. Add Dumont to that list. The flip side is that while we have been patently awful, we would not have Sheeze and or Wardlaw if we had kept them.

Is Sheeze (& George) worth the past (and future) pain?
Yes we would have.

Summarising the last few pages:
Our older blokes are shite and we need to recruit some campaigners that hate losing.
We have two older blokes. Ones a campaigner who hates losing and everyone hates him cos it means he does things like belt his opponents in front of goal.

The other is probably past it. Hasn't seen enough winning to know how to motivate his players to win.

They have lost for most of their careers.
Losing is endemic at NM.

How do senior players step up when it's all they know? Then comes the next crop, which has won 20/100, and the vicious circle repeats.

We need 4+ 28+ year olds from good teams to show our boys how to win.

One wouldn't be enough. Four might. One across each line and one more.

Yep. If it was just about money then we should pay whatever it takes to get some older experienced guys in their final years to come and play then coach (if that sweetens the deal).

If we don’t win more games then whatever talent we have amassed will go backwards just like Melb a decade ago.

Someone who can’t kick straight…
