I love it. And hopefully Hawthorn in Round 2.
We will have to be ready to go for the start of the year unlike last.
Otherwise we will find ourselves in trouble again.
I think things will be a bit different this year and we will be ready to go (mentally).

I wonder if the 2024 season will lull us into a bit of a false sense of security that "ah well, we were doing as poorly (or worse) last year, we'll be right".

I recall something similar happening to Richmond in 2021, after slow starts in 2019 and 2020. Everyone said "ah they'll be right", and everyone at Richmond said "we'll be right", but all of a sudden it became "oops, we're stuffed!"

So I hope you're right but it's a watch for me.

I don’t think so, I think our boys will be keen as to get off to a good start.
It will be more back to the middle part of the season where we might struggle with a bit of motivation, especially if we do get off to a reasonable start.
But time will tell, could be somewhere in the middle.

Has the club announced when they'll be back at training?
Nothing officially from the club yet. All I've heard is the Herald Sun referring to it in their interview with Fagan
Fagan will join his first-to-fourth-year Lions at training in a couple of weeks’ time, which will coincide with him taking the premiership cup to Tasmania to his hometown of Queenstown on November 23 and 24.

Hoping that we have limited trips to SA and WA.

Away games against all 4 of those teams in 2024 was absolutely mental, no other club had that.

I trip to each (not including gather round) would be fair.

Draw isn't fair though.

Give us it again! Went alright in the end!

Was just thinking about the North Melbourne agreement to "host" West Coast and Freo in WA. You would think (and this doesn't make it right or fair) that this would preclude them from being scheduled as the away team in Perth against either of those teams. Just like we didn't "host" Melbourne up here while they were hosting us at the Gabba.

But West Coast and Freo are still gonna get their 11 home games. One of them will be a derby but the others will have one team taken out of the mix. This means 20 trips to Perth across 15 eastern teams instead of 16 in previous years.

It's only a small difference, but it means at least 5 clubs will play both Freo and West Coast in Perth in 2025, rather than the minimum 4 in previous seasons.

So buckle up.

Remember in previous years the predominant discussion was who are our double ups? Seems we don't care anymore given weve had it as hard as anyone recently.

Fwiw - worst case scenario imo:
Top 6 - Sydney, Geelong, GWS
Middle 6 - dogs, blues
Bottom 6 - suns

I'm expecting this sort of fixture - but with no blues subbed for a smaller club (Saints, Essendon or freo).

I would go -
Top 6 - Geelong, GWS, Hawks
Middle 6 - Dogs, Collingwood
Bot 6 - Suns

Di they reveal the names of who we play for the whole season now? Or is it just the first half?

The GF rematch is normally a double up in the season off memory for the last few seasons. So probably safe to lock in Lions/Swans as a double up.
Pies/Lions happened twice
Geelong/Sydney happened twice
Dees/Dogs happened twice
