He’s probably right but if TT is happy then it matters not to anyone else.
almost every player younger than 26 could get more money if they are out of contract
He's still gonna get a huge contract next time he renews, even if it's a way out.
Maybe he isn't money focus, some players are and some aren't so he see no difference in earning $800K or $1M.

With Tex retiring and Burgess (surely) being delisted at the end of the year, I wouldn’t mind bringing in Lemmey for some KP forward depth next year.
If he’s good enough to break into our best team then fantastic. If not, handy depth for what would probably only cost a third rounder

So spoke to someone who knows Phillipou’s family. This is not intel but an opinion.
Mattaes has made a point of building an independent life and his opinion he stays in Melbourne.
His brother is supposed to be very good. If a SA club drafts him then he can see Mattaes coming to that club.
