The Poms are so enamored of playing for a result, it would not surprise me if they declared their second Innings, 200 runs behind. :sneaky:
They'd all run onto the ground to embrace their batsmen, celebrating that they'd constructed another 'win', like the First Test.

It would only be later when they hear the mob carrying torches and pitchforks that they might suspect something's wrong.
Even then, they'd invoke their "we're-here-to-entertain-and-force-a-result" clause.
Ummmmmm……

You know if they declare their second innings 200 behind they lose. Right?

KP is right, there would never ever have been this sort of response from previous skippers or coaches.
The Poms are beginning to eat their own.
But, remember they are led, coached by a Kiwi. When have you ever seen a kiwi test team put the foot on the throat of an adverary they have down and out.
They play bruise free cricket. Williamson is a nice bloke but no mongrel. Flemming was a good bloke, but no mongrel.
McCullum is turning the Poms into a team of nice blokes. It doesn't work on the Aussies.
What is that saying about nice guys?
It doesn't have to be super vicious at each other's throats stuff but I've honestly thought it's ridiculous how casually chummy the players have been with each other. Especially the Poms being 1 down. Save that until the game is over, I mean it's supposed to be one of the most fiercely contested prizes and rivalries in cricket.
