Ponting losing his s**t and rightly so, Cummins is a s**t captain.
These type of posts are just embarrassing, even as an irrational melt when things aren’t going well for a period. He’s got this team 2-0 up in an Ashes in England, just won the WTC, went very close to a series win in India, won a series in Pakistan, what more can this bloke do?!

Win or lose they’ve cooked us mentally
Haha wut, so now we won and are 2-0 up they’ve cooked as mentally? You do realise very few Australian teams have been 2-0 up in an Ashes series in England? That’s some true Bazball mentality right there, thinking you’ve won because you’ve entertained 😂.

Can't make out who that player was, but him laughing at the old farts is the perfect response.

With maybe also throwing in a comment telling them to calm down and take their medication because at their age they might have a heart attack.
Must be ECB paid trolls. Canceling their membership is just smoke and mirrors.

so thats interesting one, batsmen isnt making any attempt to run or gain an advantage and he thinks ball is dead but its a spinner so its his fault for not staying in crease but switch to pace bowler and its ok to be dozy and leave crease i guess?

I don't mind this one because the batsman is recovering from the position he got into to play the shot.

I've seen a similar video of a Brian Lara dismissal doing the rounds that I'm not a fan of though.

Smith's leadership has saved the Aussies. Cummins looked lost out there.
That is absolute crap! So even despite winning the Test, it’s all because of Smith and not Cummins? The short bowling tactics worked in the 1st innings and they eventually also worked in the 2nd innings and Australia won the match, so that seems to be good captaincy to me. Both Stokes and Cummins captained well, full credit to them.

He should have waited for the umpire to call over before he walked up the pitch
... and that complacent mistake cost him his wicket.
but it was clear to all and sundry that he wasn't going for a run.
Batsmen who are batting out of their crease can be dismissed, when clearly not going for a run, if a keeper standing back takes the ball and has a ping at the stumps.

Clever from Carey to see a chance to throw the ball at the stumps
Clever, sharp, aware, competitive and opportunistic. I LOVED the Bairstow dismissal :hearteyes:.

but it was an underhanded way to get a batsman out and not in the spirit of the game
Rubbish. It's The Ashes mate, not a game on the beach in Summer.
If I am bowling legspin, then throw in a wrong'un that takes a wicket, is that an underhanded trick, or good cricket?

You wanna know what's underhanded? Here:
How about the mints they used in 2005 to cheat their way to a series win (openly admitted by Trescothick afterwards "Marcus Trescothick – Harmison's former team-mate – wrote in his autobiography that he was the designated ball tamperer in the 2005 Ashes side, using specifically chosen mints to help gain the wild reverse swing England's quicks achieved that summer.14 Sept 2019")?

Or Atherton's pocketful of sand --- "to keep his hands dry"??

There are several examples of English cheating (and hypocrisy):

England: Play to the letter of the law!
Australia: Right ok
England:

Cummings deserves the criticism he is going to get
For winning? Being 2-0 up in an Ashes in England, something only our greatest ever sides have achieved? Sure, could have got some things better, but unless I’m mistaken, winning a Test match is damn hard and we are winning them in tough conditions. You do also realise that it’s impossible to dominate every session of a 5 day Test?

Have to hand it to England. It's much easier to deal with losing when the high horse you've built yourself is immune to results.

They're genuinely embarrassing themselves.
Horrible sportsmanship from them so far off the field, I don’t remember it being this bad in the past either. A bit of banter is fine and we all love that, but they’re just being sore losers and not acknowledging anything their opponent is doing well.

Knowing Cummins as we do - and he is no Ian Chappell or Steve Waugh - he'd have called Bairstow back if it was iffy.
He knew rightly that it was a legitimate dismissal. Carey was brilliant with his street smarts. A wicket keeper is more than just someone who catches / stops the ball and gets a few runs. They set the tone for the entire team in the field. Carey did that to perfection and in the ultimate cauldron of an away Ashes test.

1) Stokes deserved MOTM. Yes, I know England lost, but he was the MOTM for mine.

2) I'm comfortable with the Bairstow dismissal. Carey threw the ball the instant he took it (when Bairstow was still in his crease). Clearly the wicket keeper didnt regard the ball as dead and the obligation is on the Batsman to make sure of that before he walks out of the crease.

It would be no different if he was facing a spinner and just nonchalantly left his crease without looking back and the keeper immediately whipped off the bails.

Don’t forget:
  • Having the physio run on at Cardiff 2009 to stall for a draw
  • Resting fast bowlers whenever they wanted to get gun fielders on the ground
  • Cooking the pitch at The Oval into a dustbowl when they needed a result to win the series

Their sanctimony is hilarious.

There were heated exchanges between the players following Bairstow's dismissal. A clearly wound-up Stuart Broad told Carey, "That's all you will be remembered for".

Broad, who put on 108 with Stokes for the seventh-wicket in England's pursuit of 371, was later heard saying it was the "worst thing he had seen on a cricket field".

I can cop other players saying it, but Broad who didn't walk after hitting it to first slip at Trent bridge ...
