He has got flaws still as a captain but worth noting he is still learning on the job. Despite those flaws he has had an incredible amount of success.

Not many captains have been successful and even the ones that have tend to receive a lot of criticism (Smith, Clarke, Root, Kohli) all copped a ton of heat at times.

He is not perfect but he is a decent captain and hopefully still improving
It's difficult to argue against success, and PC has numbers on the board both individually and collectively.

I think we can do better.

Five pages of irrelevant politics bollocks on the match thread, can you kents take it somewhere else?

Sport is part of the political economy.

I still consider those cricketers who took Apartheid money and toured South Africa to be absolute dogs.

Reminds me a bit of Clarke (not man management wise) in that he puts the team on his back. Less effective when the pitches don't let him lead with the ball IMO.

Interesting match coming up. The 2 previous Gabba pink ball matches have been quite different, making it hard to get a read. The first vs Pakistan was a reasonably high scoring affair with Australia declaring in the second dig to win by 39 runs, the second vs Sri Lanka was a shellacking in favour of Australia. Runs are usually always available at the Gabba, especially to batters familiar with how to play there. The pink ball is interesting in that, in my opinion, it is only really difficult for that short period around dusk and is generally fairly easy to play either side of that.

After last years pitch, it will be interesting to see how this plays. Will the curator over correct or will they back themselves.

I don't disagree with it by the way, Cummins would always be tempted to throw the opposition in because he has himself to bowl at them!
When your bowling quartet has more than 1000 wickets between them, it's a luxury that few captains have at their disposal.

Australia v Windies day/night and India v England, good day for cricket lovers!

The Best Team on Paper vs The Moral Victors. Hmmm. Decisions decisions.
