Player Watch #34: Jackson Archer - had Bailey Fritsch in his pocket vs Dees

It's clear that the weekly nomination is not always the best eligible player of the round, but often due to a reasonable run of form that justifies a nomination.

I think it's a reasonable approach - you can only win if nominated, and they need to ensure all players with a chance of winning are nominated.
Its a wanky American inspired con job anyway.

We've had Dugdales, Dwyers, Crockers, Pagans, McDonalds....probably missed some. They could play,
but they were not Ablett's, Hawkins, Scarlett's, Daicos's, Moore's, Ashcroft's...........

We're due some luck with f/sons.
Allison and Martyn went ok though.

Did anyone predict this upside to date?

Considering his decision making and disposal are also tracking a bit better than expected, might even progress to more creative roles as times goes on?
They say “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”. This particular doesn’t seem to have even fallen. He’s the personification of Arch.

Do you remember what you said about Zurhaar's first game? Something about a player showing their ceiling in one or two of the best things they did even if the overall game wasn't great?

In his first few minutes of footy Jacko showed great attack on the ball and was able to read it well, attack and win the ball then use it well. Only did a few things but the way he did them was very classy.

The best thing about Jackson is that he seems to bounce back stronger after setbacks. He did so again yesterday after an unlucky first quarter.
He was statless at the end of the first quarter and negative fantasy points. He finished up with a healthy 13 disposals, with solid tackle number (4).
