But if the price paid is more per wicket you take than you scored, you lose.
You don’t do it for every player.

Chumps get out meekly, power hitters like Stokes you need to buy their wicket, as Murphy did.

With Stokes and Boland from the other end he’d still be batting

Predict Warners score ... i m predicting 15-25 caught in 2nd slip mostly by Broad

Im going to be nutty and say Warner gets 100 here and shocks the world

I think Murphy did well. It isn't easy for him in this situation but he held his nerve. I was very worried we wouldn't get a lead when all out for 263. Overall, we have to be happy with having been put in again having lost the toss. Batting will only get harder. Today is the only good day for batting and the conditions belong to us for the rest of the day. This pitch will take turn eventually. The flies in the ointment are Wood's searing pace and Stokes/Root in the second innings but I'm sure we'll fare better second time around.

One thing that annoyed me was Kumar not giving Stokes lbw to Boland. It looked stonewall for me and I don't see how you can have umpire's call for whether it pitched in line or not. Where it pitched is an actual event, whether it hits the stumps or not is a prediction and therefore umpire's call seems fair for that part of the equation only.

Well how to piss a 100 run lead away.

Fantastic first secession then negated with a crapola second secession.

That was just plain dumb cricket tactics.
