...or with a gettable target India could even pinch the win.We just spent an hour trying to take the 10th wicket.
There’s also 23mm of rain predicted for tomorrow. We may not even get 2 sessions.

How many in Australia530 wickets says yes.
It's ultimately been a pretty solid effort, just not to be with the rain delays. The first part of that is getting lost on some given the last hour.Being ignored by some that we still hold an almost 200 lead.
Absolutely. Their batting lineup can score incredibly quickly if they actually remember which end of the bat to hold....or with a gettable target India could even pinch the win.
261.How many in Australia
How many in Australia
They needed most to be in to stop singles, just aim top of off stump, and make them take a risk to score. The half hearted short balls are much easier for tail enders to score off.
Using ODI tactics when the bowlers aren’t fresh is beyond stupid, especially when there was definitely still a little in the pitch. If they get the runs with us pitching it up then well played but trying to buy tail end wickets is such negative captaincy.
Bloody Smith. Not only cost us the follow-on but 90 valuable minutes. He best not have dropped the BGT.
If India were smart they just give the fast bowlers 1 spell in the morning and then rotate the part timers for the rest of the day. Con Australia into thinking that Khawaja, Labuschagne and Marsh are in form and McSweeney is a test openerWe may get MORE out of getting some more runs like the openers, Marnus etc
Bowl them out first ball tomorrow. 150 runs in a session. Then bowl them out in 2.Definitely not now. Any sniff no matter how minute is gone.
Everyone keeps saying this and yet I haven’t seen a single person actually say that Inglis should be in over Carey.Yes
They still think Inglis should be playing instead of Carey
Yup and it’s a pattern Jim happened on the away ashes Pat loses it a bit when bowling to the tail .. perhaps he gets tired and mucks up his decisions with the ball field placementsThey needed most to be in to stop singles, just aim top of off stump, and make them take a risk to score.
We had a long on when there should have been a mid on, easy single. Then had Starc at mid-off way to wide. They get a few singles through there. Just got it all wrong. Plus he is trying to think about all this when he is totally knackered. When he was that stuffed and still bowling through necessity let Smith take charge for a while.
It’s not his fault if the captain doesn’t throw him the ball.Marsh said pre-game that he was willing to bowl more overs for the team if required. That hasn't been anywhere near the truth.
Lyon only bowled one last Test to be fair.He has taken the same amount of wickets as Lyon has this series
No point a bowler down with this weather around we aren't bowling them out in time. Game is gone. We should just bat all day tomorrow.
Had a big opportunity today Jim and apart from smudges awesome catch he’s bowled.. it was dart cityLyon only bowled one last Test to be fair.
He would've if he could've. He was needed for 10 or 12 overs today. Would have kept the fast bowlers fresher and probably got the follow on.It’s not his fault if the captain doesn’t throw him the ball.
Some of the melts here are ridiculous.
We have a lead of 190.
We have dominated the test.
Are the stupid short ball to the tail tactics annoying - yes.
Should we have bowled them out and been able to enforce the follow on - yes as well.
Was Smiths drop costly - yes.
Would we have won if not for the drop? Who knows
Fact is we have lost a good 5-6 sessions in the match to rain
Was always pushing it uphill to get a win in that context

If the new ball can cause trouble then it’s our batsmen that will get it firstNathan Lyon on ABC - "hopefully the weather can bugger off". He's still hopeful of a result, believing the new ball can cause trouble.
When Lyon bowls that leg stump line he looks about as dangerous as a plastic butter knife trying to cut a well done steak.Lyon only bowled one last Test to be fair.
