He's batted the entire series in some of the toughest conditions you can face as an opener.

He hasn't made a massive score but he has done an okay job at blunting the new ball and allowing Head and co to come in when conditions are easier.

Pretty sure I read somewhere,that the current 12th man has dominated the shield

I dont hate him. I applauded him after he won AB Medal. But he lied to the Australian public when he said he was capable of bowling overs to the media pre-game. Cummins would have gone to him, if he had the chance. Not buying into the theory , Cummins didnt want to give him the ball this game. Cummins look knackered by the end of yesterday.

Perhaps too harsh on mcsweeney 1 more shot as they are clearly under instruction to take wild swings and set a target say 300 off 50.

There’s a massive storm cloud due to hit shortly, which does make the ”set a target” approach look a bit silly.
Perhaps Cummo would have been better off instructing the batters to play their normal game, get some runs and confidence for the next test.
Problem with that approach is that playing their normal game for most of our top order simply means prodding and poking for an over or two, then getting out to Bumrah.
