Think you just have to give McSweeney some time personally. We aren't blessed with options at the moment and he's had one of the most difficult initiations to Test cricket, batting out of position and facing Bumrah who is bowling like a man possessed.

At the very least, I'd like to see him get a crack at 3 or 4 first.

He's been the best and most consistent bat in the Shield for the past couple of seasons.

He's batted the entire series in some of the toughest conditions you can face as an opener.

He hasn't made a massive score but he has done an okay job at blunting the new ball and allowing Head and co to come in when conditions are easier.

Hi Mrs McSweeney 👋

Don't really understand why people are so surprised by this. The only option was to throw the kitchen sink at it for 10-20 overs and build enough of a lead that India can't chase down, which we've just about done.

Obviously it's going to be almost impossible to bowl them out in less than two sessions but there's not much else we could've done apart from send them in earlier. But then we risk the weather turning good (unlikely) and giving them two full sessions to chase 200-odd.

He’s not a Victorian, so he will get plenty of time
