Sadly the Brisbane Lions are starting to influence the groundstaff at the Gabba leading to later starts and softer (I.e. easier to recover) pitches. Weather aside I think this pitch is an old school Aussie better.

As for the weather itself...definitely a bad wet season up here. Normally mid-late November (I.e. first test) is safe as houses but even that was rather wet. December-February is peak wet season and that much is still true.

The forecast wasn't promising, but it didn't look like 'GABBA becomes a swimming pool and play is abandoned from before lunch' type of bad.

Doesn't bode well for the next couple of days.

Brisbane
Sydney
Melbourne
Adelaide
Perth

Just no for Sydney before Christmas it’s a big test for fundraising so it won’t be moving before Xmas.

Brisbane-Perth-Adel (D/N), Mel-Syd

I would like it to be D/N in Sydney to go with the theme

Well now we know where the swimming will be in 2032.

Moving the Gabba test to December a blow for many reasons:
Most likely washed along with a dead flat Sydney putting more pressure to win series.
Started off the series at the most fastest, seaming pitch which seems even foreign to us instead of easing into the series.
Gives Indian bowlers more time to rest. Feel Bumrah is on the edge of going down.

As for when tests should be scheduled: Brisbane the earlier the better. Much like Sydney. As for the rest: Boxing day is Melbourne's and let Adelaide and Perth fight out new years and 3rd/last test dependant on the series being contested
Adelaide is the best attended Test out of all of them, if we wanted the new years Test there’s no chance Perth is even in the conversation

DN New Years Test in Sydney? Watching it rain under lights would be a great prime time spectacle.

Rain has stopped and covers are off, why did they call stumps? They had up until this time to make a decision

The umpires and players seem to want to play as little as possible these days and stuff the spectators and the broadcasters.

In this series so far these two teams have only played about 6 days out of 11 test days total going into Day 2 of the third test.

Nice work if you can get it, not many other jobs would you get 5 days off on full pay, especially the sort of pay they are getting.
