I understand the selection decisions but Khawaja should of gone first in my opinion. I know if they keep picking him that he will make runs but we have to move on.

Khawaja has been a serviceable player but not a great player. I don't think he has earnt a right to nominate his retirement date. He is very overated against good attacks.

Any chance Marsh gets dropped? He doesnt bowl anymore by the looks of it...and isnt reliable enough to bat at No 6. Surely it is time to bring in a proper all rounder?

The narrative turned around when the first Test documentary aired and everybody realised he is a legend of a bloke.

Always been a completely below average test cricketer, and suddenly reclaims his spot, has a solid 12 months, and looks undroppable again despite barely even bowling.

He needs to go. If Green was fit and wasn't playing I'd be ropeable.
Give Webster a crack, or let a guy who has proven his form at Shield level (Inglis) wear a baggy green.

Honestly I can't get work it out...he is not going to play.....only reason I can see is they don't want him playing cricket and not getting injured

Keep inglis company on the bench ??...might as well call up Morris as well and rest him

I imagine they want him around the squad because they know all the bowlers are getting on and he is Test standard.

Not entirely sure why Inglis is in the squad though.

I don’t get this point of view. If Konstas fails, he’s what, 19, he has a decade to get back in the side to still have a decent career.

He doesn’t seem to lack for confidence, hail or shine a reckon he will be fine.
Have you known a 19 year old sportsman to lack confidence? Means very little.

This opener poition should of been sorted last year against the Windies and Pakistan not against India and Bumrah.
I think that would have just started the carousel earlier.

ah yes, they guy who isnt an opener didnt fire against the best bowler in the world as an opener. no one could've seen that one coming, the old cricket australia special. to throw him into this situation and then walk away sop quickly while many others around him also struggle is just really harsh.
Is it harsh or is it correcting a mistake? Is it not more harsh to keep picking a guy who clearly isn't up to the task?

Questions have to be asked about McDonald and Bailey.

Terrible tactics have cost us multiple series now.

Shithouse future planning, appears non existent.

Nonsensical selections time after time.

They're useless - we're winning Tests and Series due to individual brilliance; when we don't have it, we're buggered.

He is clearly near the end but this is all about the next two tests, i still have more faith in Usman making runs in these two tests than i do Sydney.

Vibes.

100% seems like a good bloke to have around the team..

So have him around it, not in it.
Honestly the Mitch marsh hate is becoming tiresome at least Mitch did something I. The first test and the last 12 months

If you are going to direct it .. ussie and marnus have done f&&k all for the past 12 months lot less than Mitch

I reckon if Green was fit for the start of the series we would've seen some very interesting selections.

In all honesty though it should've been simple if he was fit, Marsh out.

But I reckon they somehow would've tried to wedge both in and ended up trying to persuade someone not named Smith to open.

Yup would love to know what they the selectors would’ve done if green dog was fit

I have actually. A few in fact

Edit: as an example, I coached a bloke in the North West of England who was Welsh by birth, outstanding fly half, quick hands, good vision, decent boot, played underage for Wales, but could never get out of his own head. Always thought he would fail. As such couldn’t step up. On the flip side, his team mate at 7 just knew he would make it, not as good as Welsh mate, but he did, still playing pro.
